A charming, idyllic retreat, this cottage is perfectly situated in a traditional village, ideal for exploring the New Forest National Park. With several child-friendly features, this makes for a wonderful family holiday where your dog is also very welcome.

This large cottage is ideal for families or a group of friends who want plenty of space. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen for a family feast and the huge window offers pretty views across the garden and to the paddocks beyond. A snug acts as a great playroom for little ones, to enjoy themselves with toys and a DVD player. The cottage-style living room features a cosy wood burner for your family and your pet to relax in front of. Outside, there is a playhouse for the children, pretty gardens and a BBQ with garden furniture which is ideal for al fresco dining. The cottage also has its own cattle grid, so the New Forest ponies don’t join you in the garden.

With many beautiful walking trails straight from the garden gate, within a variety of New Forest landscapes, this cottage is ideally located for outdoor activities and exploring. Start in the village: Burley is an untouched village with plenty of traditions as well as legends of witches, smuggling and dragons. The town of Ringwood is 7 miles away, with two supermarkets and a range of independent shops. For trips to the coast, Bournemouth (19 miles) has miles of sandy beaches, restaurants and shops. If you are after a fresh locally sourced meal for the family, just 1 mile up the lane is a dog-friendly local pub. For cartoon fans, Peppa Pig World is only 17 miles from the cottage.

Thank you for a lovely stay. This is an extremely comfortable and well-equipped home. We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter break - three generations. Worked out really well. Beds were very comfortable, great living rooms and kitchen and enjoyed the garden, including playing badminton and relaxing in the sun. Did lots of exploring of the New ForesRead moret - the children loved seeing the horses. The White Buck across the road proved a good place for drinks and dinner. Hide

FABULOUS !!! Perfect place to stay, Loved the cottage, it had everything you might need, Clean, Roomy, one of the most important thing for me was an enclosed garden, which it has, lovely location, we could walk in The White buck to eat, Very nice staff and food was delicious, although a little expensive, Can't recommend enough.

Lovely house in good location. Had a great holiday there and overall would recommend. It is worth noting the single bedroom is very small (no space for a wardrobe - main storage is under bed drawers). However this was fine for us as we were one family and could share with the space in the other rooms. This is a lovely property in a great location . Excellent for our two grandchildren under 3 , fitted stair gates a definite bonus ! We had all that we needed in the house and village but also enjoyed walks in the forest , easily done without the car , and a couple of beach days .

Lovely house in a great location with a secure garden. Two large, beautiful, double rooms but the third double bedroom is very small with a window that is opaque so no view. Lovely location ideal for walks and burley is quaint and nice pubs and ice-cream shops . Well equipped House with comfortable beds. Couple of minor issues which could make it better and lack of hosepipe not ideal with muddy boots and dog. However overall a lovely house to holiday in.

We enjoyed our stay over new year very much. A very well equipped comfortable and clean house in a great location for cycling and walking. A short walk into Burley village with several pubs, cafs.and a village shop which stocked all the essentials and had a great butchers counter with locally sources produce. We enjoyed our family meals around the Read morelarge dinning table and getting cozy in front of the log burner. Would love to return in the summer. Hide

Rosewood Cottage is a lovely holiday home in a beautiful location with ponies that go past the front gate. Burley is a really lovely village and only 15mins from the shops & amenities of Ringwood. This is a wonderful cottage in a brilliant location. The beds are very comfy, the house very well equipped with everything you could need. The only issues we had were we couldnt find an outdoor hose and the master bedroom is huge and the other double is very small so when staying with friends its tricky to decide who gets which! The cottage is in a great location, coincidentally we rented the next door house last year so knew the area well. Lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms were good. However, the size of the garden was disappointing after seeing the photos. The kitchen was poorly equipped and we had to clean it again on arrival. Pots, pans and plates were very old and worn.
