At this pretty single-storey property, a cosy retreat for a couple and two dogs, the only steps your hound’s four legs will have to climb after a day exploring Cornwall are the two at the front door.
In nearby Luxulyan (0.5 miles), pick up supplies at the village shop, and pop into the local pub, where your canine companions will be given a warm welcome and a tasty treat from the dish on the bar.
Inside, stylish decor, a soft colour palette, and modern exposed beams complete the property’s country-cottage charm. There is hard flooring throughout, so paws can pad around no problem, and plenty of floorspace for your pup’s favourite beds and blankets to be laid out for cosy evenings curled up at your feet. Enjoy a romantic meal at the table set for two in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, and then kick back on the sofa while you watch the Smart TV. When you’re ready for bed, let sleeping dogs lie and head through the bedroom. In the morning, wake to countryside views and start your day with a refreshing bath or shower. French doors from the living space lead onto the enclosed lawn and patio - great for sunny brunches, BBQs, and fetch with Fido.
As one of the area’s top attractions, you can’t go to Cornwall without paying a visit to the Eden Project (2.5 miles). While dogs aren’t allowed in the Biomes, they can sniff their way round the trails in the Outdoor Garden, follow you into the Visitor Centre, and take a break in the undercover dining area. For walkies that will set tails wagging, pack a picnic and spend an afternoon amongst the ruins of Restormel Castle (6 miles), or wander through The Lost Gardens of Heligan (11 miles).
