This quaint cottage is one of three located on a farm, just above the picturesque village of Godshill. Perfectly located for keen walkers and those looking for a relaxing retreat.

Lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this beautiful cottage is ideally located for exploring one of the most picturesque areas of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping four across two warm and welcoming bedrooms, it’s a wonderful bolthole for a family escape. With a spacious lawn area that’s great for ball games and fetch, your beloved canines will feel at home here too.

The Grade II listed cottage has been lovingly converted from an old barn. Furnished in a traditional style throughout, it retains its country charm, with exposed beams in the first-floor bedrooms to deep-set windows in the open-plan lounge/diner. On quiet evenings or rainy days, curl up with the hounds and relax in the comfortable lounge in front of the TV/DVD. Keen cooks will love the bright kitchen, where they can cook up a storm to be enjoyed in the spacious dining area or alfresco on the sunny patio, overlooking a pretty fountain. Or why not fire up the BBQ in the lawn area that’s shared with two other cottages on the working farm? You’ll find it just a short walk from the cottage.

Take a leisurely stroll through the beech copse to the centre of Godshill (1 mile) and enjoy the town’s many amenities, from tea rooms to restaurants. From the farm’s courtyard you’ll find access to many footpaths and bridle paths that lead along the picturesque Stenbury Trail to the coast at Ventnor (6 miles); here, enjoy the panoramic views across the island towards Hampshire and Dorset on the mainland. Get sandy paws and feet at the nearby beaches of Sandown (7 miles) and Shanklin (5 miles), offering a fun day out for the whole family.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A lovely cottage in a great location, with a pleasant woodland walk down to Godshill and a number of public footpaths leading out in different directions. Nowhere on the island took longer than 30 minutes to get to. The cottage was larger than it looked in the pictures and it was well appointed for a two week stay. Cottage was decent - furnishing not quite top of the range and decor a little dated in some respects but this was not marketed or priced as a premium option. What it was, was comfortable, quiet, nice and spacious. Found ourselves with a non-functioning microwave (which was needed due to sterilising baby bottles etc), rang the number provided and thRead moreis was resolved very quickly and helpfully.
