Stay in this characterful cottage, which is the former childhood home of Captain Cook! With picturesque views and plenty of walks from the doorstep. Perfect for family and friends seeking adventure in and around the North Yorkshire Moors.

You simply can’t leave your four-pawed pals behind when holidaying in the North York Moors National Park. From stick chasing to sandy scampers, fill your days with family fun before warming tails and toes in front of the wood burner back at this gorgeous cottage which sleeps six over three bedrooms.

Underpinned with elegant style and a country-meets-contemporary interior, neutral hues, creature comforts and charm welcome you to relax. With plenty of space to curl up, settle on one of the comfortable sofas and dish out tummy strokes and tit bits to keep tails wagging. The inviting space can be transformed by firing up the wood burner to create a cosy sanctuary for chilly evenings or outside, the gorgeous garden (with steps) is perfect for sundowner evenings with sizzling feasts, tasty treats and al fresco aperitifs. The charm and style continues into the three bedrooms, one of which resides on the ground floor and is treated to an en-suite shower room, so you can drift off amid neutral tones and wake ready to sip your morning coffee. Tuck into breakfast in the beautiful kitchen/diner with exposed stone wall or take your mug outside and get involved in the morning stick chase.

Unleash your inner Captain Cook and head out to explore with your canine companions in tow. Great Ayton boasts a fantastic destination at the foot of the Cleveland Hills on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Set tails wagging and head out to chase sticks on the ascent to the top of Roseberry Topping (3 miles) or make the 11-mile trip to the coast where salty scampers and sandcastle building can fill your day. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a great spot which welcomes all the family year-round.

We had a fantastic week at the cottage. The location was excellent with great views and walks straight from the front door. The accommodation was very generous inside and out and very well equipped. To top it off the owners were very friendly and responsive to any requests or questions we had. Would highly recommend it.
