A tranquil and secluded Cotswold retreat, this quintessential chocolate-box cottage nestled in an idyllic village near the River Leach in the heart of the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside.
Head to this exquisite Cotswold stone cottage in the picture-postcard Gloucestershire village of Eastleach and take a couple of contented canines with you. The two-bedroom property, which sleeps five guests and welcomes two of their four-legged friends, is set within exceptional walking country. Follow waymarked paths from the village through glorious scenery then return home to light the open fire or relax in the delightful cottage garden.
Enter the cottage via the hall, where there is ample space to give Fido and Rex a quick rub down before letting them have the run of the house. Call them through and let them settle in front of a roaring fire in the inviting lounge, while you relax for an hour or two with a good book or in front of the TV. Prepare meals for everyone in the kitchen, where there is also a handy washer/dryer, and enjoy family meals and celebrations around the table in the dining room. There’s a WC on the ground floor and your family bathroom is upstairs, together with both of your comfortable bedrooms. Soak up the sunshine in your south-facing garden as often as possible with your perfect pets close by.
Pull on your walking boots, gather your furry friends and set off on a 5-mile circular walk from Eastleach through unspoiled countryside and along the banks of the River Leach. See a Roman crossing and evidence of Roman terracing and ancient field systems along the way. Walk almost 1.5 miles to picturesque Southrop: stop for a drink and a bowl of water at the dog-friendly pub then return home to dine at the pub in Eastleach, which also welcomes wagging tails. Drive 15 miles to the Cotswold Water Park, with its family activities and water sports, and miles of footpaths and lakes, including one with a dog swimming area.
