This stylish bungalow sleeping four guests and one dog, offers fantastic views out to the River Severn from the comfort of the lounge area, as well as from its well-kept garden. The split-level, spacious garden with patio area is a great place to unwind and take in the fresh air. With the heart of the Forest of Dean just 4.5 miles away, outdoor activities are easy to come by. Take on an assault course, try your hand at archery, or head out on one of the many walking trails and let your pooch sniff out the area.

The neutral walls and use of lighting have made the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner area the hub of this property. Along with its large window bringing in natural light and providing a stunning view, the space offers a great social environment to cook and dine in. The whole property has a contemporary style to it and has been tastefully decorated with a subtle nature theme in keeping with its location. Settle in for the evening on the comfortable sofa and enjoy a family movie. Make the most of the warm summer evenings by firing up the BBQ and dining alfresco, whilst letting your four-legged friend roam freely.

You’ll find a range of shops and local amenities in Cinderford, just 2 miles away, as well as a cinema and an Artspace. A short walk from the property (0.5 miles) is the Littledean Jail Museum. Not for the faint-hearted it states that children under 16 must be accompanied by adults, and solely at the parent's discretion. The quaint village of Newnham on Severn is a short 1.5 miles away and has a charming clock tower, independent shops and scenic walks along the River Severn.

Great week March 2024. The view is magnificent, unfortunately our weather was a bit up and down. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The area is rural and requires a drive to attractions. Forest just a walk away if you are walkers. Perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful.

Our second visit and it wont be our last. As a base for visiting friends and family in the area River View Retreat is perfect. A real home from home. Well equipped, scrupulously clean and very comfortable. Our week in November this year was wet and windy but the property was lovely and warm and the car port a massive bonus. We have stayed at this cottage 3 times and hope we will be able to visit again some time next year. Spectacular views,ideal location for Forest walks with our dog and visits to the surrounding area. Warm, comfortable and well equipped and handy for shops and selection of restaurants.

One of the very few holiday cottages that we've ever stayed in that absolutely merits a Five Star rating. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how good the view out the main window is.. :-P If we are ever back in this area, will definitely book here again! :-)

We had a wonderful holiday at this little gem of a house. We were fortunate with the weather and were fully able to enjoy the incredible views and skyscapes . The lovely owner was most welcoming , available when needed ,but unobtrusive . A great welcome pack greeted us on arrival and the house was generally well equipped and spotlessly clean. The cottage is well located with wonderful views. It is modern, spotlessly clean and well furnished. Natalie was very helpful. I do not though feel it is dog friendly. You have to cross the carport to access the garden via a small gate. I simply could not let the dog out unsupervised, so I had early morning outings in my pyjamas ! A gorgeous bungalow with fantastic views from inside and out in a lovely peaceful area. A great welcome pack and visit from Natalie to see we were ok. There are plenty of places quite nearby to visit but just relaxing in the garden is a treat looking down on the river.The village and Cinderford have an array of shops for your needs.

We booked this cottage for a stay over Christmas. When we arrived, we found it had been decorated with a tree, the table set out with decorations and crackers and more. Such a lovely Christmassy display. The whole cottage was super clean. The views from the cottage are spectacular. The garden room and terrace are expertly positioned to take full advantage of the setting and we were able to breakfast and have tea outside. This property is an ideal base for exploring the Forest of Dean. It is very comfortable, well-equipped and clean and the owners are friendly and approachable. The views are a real added bonus and there are several little extra touches that help to make a stay here enjoyable.
