Relax and make yourself right at home in this lovely cottage sitting on a working farm in the Cotswolds village of Duntisbourne-Rouse. Sleeping four people over two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, it’s an idyllic accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to spend their days strolling with their pup in Siccaridge Wood, and their evenings BBQ-ing on the patio while their faithful friend runs free in the enclosed courtyard garden.
Step inside and you’ll discover a wonderfully welcoming home. Head to the country-style kitchen and rustle up some food before getting everyone together around the table in the lounge/diner for a sociable dinner. Alternatively, step out onto the patio, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco. You’ll love the view of the stream, and your pup will adore running free in the garden. After dinner, crack open a bottle of something bubbly and watch the stars come out, or head into the lounge to catch up on your favourite TV shows while your pup stretches out to snooze in front of the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms upstairs.
For the wildest of walkies, head to Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens (23 miles), which has been voted the best day out with a dog for two years running by the Kennel Club’s ‘Be Dog Friendly’ scheme. Stroll around the walled garden and take your pup on the attraction’s narrow-gauge railway. You’ll also find plenty of water bowls and free poop bags. Alternatively, if your pup enjoys getting in the water, there’s a dedicated doggy swimming area in Cotswold Country Park and Beach (8.5 miles). There are also plenty of lovely public footpaths and bridlepaths to explore.
