Set on the banks of the tranquil River Wensum, this delightful and peaceful country cottage nestles in the heart of the picturesque Norfolk countryside and is perfect for enjoying a fishing break.

Benefitting from a secluded setting, this cottage is the perfect rural bolthole to enjoy with family and friends. The property sleeps five guests and two dogs and has a fabulous large garden, with plenty of space for them to chase around. You’ll be just 15 miles from the coast, which is dotted with lots of dog-friendly beaches and clifftop walks guaranteed to get tails wagging.

This rustic cottage is full of character and charm. After a day of exploring, sink into the comfy sofas in the lounge area and fire up the wood burner to create a cosy spot for your canine chums to doze. The cute farmhouse-style kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal and on a warm summer’s evening, why not dine outside whilst admiring the local wildlife? The fabulous garden extends to half an acre and backs onto a river, so there’s loads of exciting places for the dogs to investigate. It’s all fully enclosed and entry to the river is through a gate.

You’ll have easy access to a wide variety of countryside and coastal walks. The Peddars Way, which follows an ancient Roman road, winds its way through quiet river valleys and rich farmland. Join it at Hunstanton, just 25 miles away. From this small coastal town, you can also head east along the Norfolk Coast Path, where you’ll discover spectacular views and rare wildlife. Holkham Beach (15 miles away) is a great spot on a summer’s day. It’s dog friendly all year and has miles of sand for them to enjoy, as well as some lovely walks through the pine forest. You’ll also find shaded walks through the woodlands at Holt Country Park (14 miles away), as well as a fantastic children’s play area and several picnic spots.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage and very comfortable, garden was lovely and cottage in a good location for exploring this area. Would definitely recommend a visit. Wifi would improve as telephone signals not very good.

Well positioned in an attractive village with pub, fish and chip shop, village shop and about 4 miles from Fakenham the cottage is set off well by its marvellous garden, a most attractive feature for anyone with dogs. However, take towels if your mutts like water, the river being easily accessed. We enjoyed it.

We booked this cottage because of the fishing but were very disappointed as there is not as much as a stickleback in the river. Cottage itself disappointing. Mill Farm fishery saved the day. Lovely area.

Lovely garden but so overgrown not like the pictures on the site. The table and chairs by the river very rundown cant sit on them as garden overgrown. Inside very tired and a permanent musty smell. Stairs very steep.

A lovely quirky cottage in a quiet location, only 20 mins from the coast. We felt comfortable straight away and it had everything we could possibly need, the welcome tea, coffee & biscuits were really appreciated. The garden was great, loved by the dog and our 10 year old son who couldnt stay away from the swing we would definitely go back but a liRead morettle tlc would turn this lovely cottage into a really great place to stay. The cottage was amazing, spacious, comfortable and so well equipped - you wanted for nothing. We loved the quirkiness and felt at home the moment we arrived. The garden was beautiful, we loved relaxing outside and having the river at the bottom of the garden was a bonus. Perfect location to relax and unwind!

This is a charming old cottage set at end of small terrace of six and has a large wild garden and access to the river. It is extremely well equipped and close to pub, butcher, church and post office/ store. Handy location for many beaches and country estates.
