Lovely location in little village. Nice and cosy with the log burner. Friendly and busy pub opposite with nice atmosphere. Good service from the helpline number for sending someone out promptly to replace missing smoke alarm and to check broken kettle and grill. Beware of very low beams and uneven floors! Could have been cleaner.

A very clean and homely cottage. Beds were very comfortable. Right next to a lovely pub. Lots of kitchen equipment, books and boardgames. Close to Bassenthwaite lake and some good walks around. Having a car is very helpful to explore the rest of the lake district but bus routes are nearby. A really lovely visit.

We all found it to be very comfortable and enjoyable. It is a pity that we had an incident at the end with the landlord of the Sun Inn across the road. Our party had 2 cars. OK one of the cars was in the car park all week, and I know it says in the cottage information to park elsewhere, but we all ate in the pub twice and some members of our party Read morewere in there every night.
