A cosy bolt hole, positioned right down in the heart of the village. Perfect for two people to share and take in the beautiful setting or a family break

Only steps from the quayside of Polruan village, this cosy two-bedroom cottage is the ideal destination for friends or families, including canine members, seeking a relaxing base from which to explore the South Cornwall coastline. Hop on the passenger ferry to Fowey for a hike to St Catherine’s Castle before stopping for refreshments in one of the dog-friendly traditional pubs. Wander through the woodlands of the Luxulyan Valley (14 miles) and dip your paws in one of the many babbling brooks along the way.

Enjoying a quiet location just off the quay, your traditional cottage offers comfortable accommodation arranged over three floors. Entering into the first floor, your kitchen/diner is a cosy room with exposed ceiling beams and whitewashed walls. It comes equipped with everything you need to prepare hearty meals to share at the rustic dining table. Designed to take advantage of the fabulous views, your lounge is on the second floor, where you can curl up on one of the comfy sofas with your hound at your feet and watch the boats bob on the river. Through a low doorway off the lounge you will find a cosy twin bedroom nestled in the eaves. Reached via a spiral staircase from the kitchen, the master king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room is on the ground floor. Although there is no outside space at the cottage, the quay is only steps away. Parking is available at the nearby public car parks (charges apply).

Take the lead along the South West Coast Path only moments from the front door for a day walking the rugged coastline. Discover quiet coves for picnics and doggy paddles or stop for refreshments in one of the dog-friendly village pubs along the way. Head inland for long walks along Bodmin Moor (20 miles) taking in the breathtaking scenery. Put your best paw forward at Restormel Castle (12 miles) and explore the castle grounds, or stroll to nearby Lostwithiel to discover this pretty village together.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely harbour setting. Narrow roads. Free car park is a half mile walk up a 17% gradient hill. Spiral staircase ,lost its appeal very quickly.

Cottage was great for us. The walk back up to the car tests even the fittest, so be aware. Also, if you like quiet lay-ins then forget it. Outside downstairs is like Piccadilly Circus from 0630 onwards. I'd also suggest those not cooking retire to the lounge, it is VERY cosy.

Comfortable cottage with all needed for a holiday. BUT situated at the bottom of a steep hill approx. 1000 steps from car park. Quiet at night but some industrial noise during the day. Great location for ferry to Fowey and coastal walks.

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday at Quay View, the location is central for the village and easy access to the Fowey ferry. The only worry for potential customers would be the spiral stairs down to the bedroom and the stairs to the lounge, which are both rather tight/small and open backed treads so I would recommend that this cottage is not suitablRead moree for small children. Situated on the seafront in cosy Polruan, this is the place to stay if you're visiting the area! (although a bit difficult to get down to Polruan by car) Great location, clean and spacious. If you are visiting Fowey, the passenger ferry (situated 1 min from the house) runs back and forth all day and takes you across the river in minutes. The place Read morehas a downstairs double bedroom with a bathroom, a kitchen with all amenities on the ground floor, followed by an upstairs living room, double bedroom and a restroom. The living room has amazing views across the river towards Fowey. There are a few pubs just across the street. Would definitely recommend visiting Fowey and Polruan, and this is the place to stay!?
