This delightful and welcoming barn offers couples a perfect idyll in the centre of Devon, within easy reach of popular coastline and countryside.

This fabulous property provides a home-away-from-home stay for two guests plus one hairy hound. As well as walks in the surrounding countryside, you’ll also be within 20 miles of some of North Devon’s most iconic beaches. Saunton Sands, 16.5 miles away, has mile upon mile of golden sand for the pup to scamper around on and is also a haven for surfers.

The detached barn is set in the grounds of the owner’s home and offers a real sense of space, thanks to the vaulted ceiling. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is decorated in neutral tones with pretty light fittings, creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. After a long dog walk, sink into the plump sofa and put on a good film, with your favourite furry friend curled at your feet. At the end of the day, climb the stairs to the pretty galleried double bedroom for a good night’s sleep. Outside, there’s an enclosed, gated, gravelled area where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst the pup potters around.

Even in the height of summer, it’s easy to escape the crowds on the 3.5 miles of beach at Saunton Sands. Walk along the shoreline, dipping toes and paws in the water, all the way to Crow Point at the mouth of the River Taw estuary, before returning through the dunes. The picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth make an excellent day out (27 miles). Ride on the cliff railway, which links the two villages, and enjoy a spot of lunch in one of the many paw-friendly eateries. The grounds of Castle Hill (10 miles) are perfect for a peaceful afternoon stroll. Pop Rover on a lead and meander around the mystical follies, temples and lakes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
