Escape with two very happy hounds to this fabulous stone holiday cottage on a working farm in Cumbria. Step straight out from the front door to take your much-loved pets on long rambles through glorious countryside. Venture just 6 miles from your base, which sleeps up to four guests, to follow the national trail along historic Hadrian’s Wall. Enjoy days out in the Lake District and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Return home from long walks to dry muddy paws and relax in your spacious lounge. With its exposed stonework and wood burner-effect electric fire, this makes a cosy space for four-legged, as well as two-legged, members of your party. Watch TV in here while your canines doze contentedly at your feet. Prepare food for all members of your party and serve up in your kitchen/diner. There’s also a useful washing machine for those doggy towels and blankets in here and a freezer in a shared outbuilding, where you can keep tasty treats for everyone. One of your bedrooms and its en-suite wet room, suitable for wheelchair access, are at ground-floor level too. Open the French doors in here to take the pups out for a stroll before bed. Your other bedroom is on the first floor, and also benefits from an en-suite shower room. Spend warm days out in the shared courtyard and garden; cook dinner on the BBQ and wander around the grounds - just keep the pups close by when near the stream.
Make the most of your position close to Hadrian’s Wall and take your pets along a section of it with you. Visit the Roman fort at Vindolanda, 15 miles away. Hike some 3 miles into the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and from there, follow footpaths through stunning scenery while your hounds hunt for the biggest sticks together.
