This stylish cottage makes the perfect base for exploring Exmoor and the Somerset Coast with your furry friend. There’s room for six humans and one canine. You’ll find endless walks on the moor and a fantastic choice of beaches and seaside towns to explore. Or, you could decide just to lie in the peaceful garden and relax while your dog plays. The property is set in a quiet location on a hillside, close to the village of Porlock, around half a mile away.
The cottage is approached by steep steps and is decorated in contemporary style. There is a cosy lounge with a wood burner where you can warm up after a fun day’s exploring, and a sunroom where you and your favourite four-legged friend can curl up and enjoy the views. The separate kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and there’s a utility room too, ideal for getting muddy clothes and paws clean. There are three bedrooms, each sleeping two. Outside is the lovely enclosed terraced garden, accessed via steep stone steps, complete with a lawn and garden furniture.
Take a stroll down the hill into Porlock and you’ll find an eclectic selection of shops, restaurants and tea rooms. Porlock Weir, with its idyllic working harbour, is a short walk from the village centre. If the dog needs more space to run around, Porlock Marsh, an atmospheric flat salt marsh, is around half a mile from the village. One of the best beaches in the area is at Minehead, 6 miles away. There you’ll find a large sweep of golden sand and a busy resort. The South West Coast Path offers fantastic coastal walks along cliff tops and through fishing villages, and there are endless trails crossing the moor.
