Be beside the seaside at this quirky pink property in the heart of the gorgeous coastal village of Saundersfoot. Sleeping six across three bedrooms, one of which is downstairs, it’s ideal for a family or group of surfers and their furry friend. Saundersfoot is home to miles of golden sand and, best of all, it’s one of the most dog-friendly places in Pembrokeshire.
The cottage is full of individual charm and character, with home comforts throughout, and you certainly won’t be short of reading material here as there are several filled bookcases – and maybe even a shaggy dog story or two! Use the Aga to hone your culinary skills and enjoy homecooked meals in the large dining room. The sunny conservatory is a restful place to read or sit stroking Fido as he laps up the sunshine. The conservatory leads to a small enclosed courtyard, ideal for storing surfboards and throwing toys. The lounge is on the first floor of the property, where you can watch the comings and goings of the village. At the end of a busy day, dive into the majestic king-size four-poster bed in the en-suite master bedroom.
On the western side of Saundersfoot, accessed via the harbour, is Glen Beach, which has plenty of space for your dog to run off-lead. At low tide it’s possible to walk to Monkstone Beach, which is also pet-friendly all year round. There’s lots to sniff out in neighbouring Tenby (3 miles) too, with its pretty cobbled streets and harbour. Further afield, fantastic family days out can be had at Oakwood Theme Park (8.5 miles) and Pembroke Castle (11 miles), where well-behaved dogs are welcome everywhere except the cafe and shop.
