With the picture-postcard East Neuk of Fife harbour villages; wonderful sandy beaches and scenic walks through the beautiful Tentsmuir Forest on your doorstep, there is enough to keep even the most energetic individuals happy! After a busy day, return to relax amongst period features and elegant styling, or if the weather is warm settle in the courtyard garden with a dram in hand for a lazy evening of star gazing.

 

A wonderful arts and crafts Edwardian country house, beautiful period features blend effortlessly with contemporary touches, with traditional features such as the stained-glass windows, grand staircase and feature fireplaces highlighting the true beauty of this country property. The kitchen is spacious and bright, while inviting sofas in the lounge beckon you to sink back in front of the wood burner with your pup sprawling at your feet. Upstairs, all the bedrooms are en-suite and tastefully decorated. Start the morning with a coffee in the beautifully planted, enclosed courtyard garden, and in the evening sizzle up a BBQ and dine alfresco as the children and their furry friends potter about to their hearts content.

 

For sand, sea and dipping toes in salty waves head east to West Sands (7.5 miles) and Kinshaldy Beach (5 miles). For on lead woodland walks, head to the gothic ruins of Crawford Priory (11 miles), or the house and grounds at Hill of Tarvit (10 miles). Find lovely little ruins at Balmerino Abbey (8 miles), while urbanites can visit St Andrews (6 miles), the home of golf, and the vibrant city of Dundee (7 miles) with its excellent range of leisure and shopping facilities. End the day with a pint at the local dog-friendly pub, 1 mile down the road.
