During your stay, you can visit the nearby medieval village of Blanchland, less than 10 miles away, to teach your canine companion all about England’s history!
This contemporary barn conversion features a bright open-plan kitchen, lounge and diner. Curl up on the spacious, comfy sofa after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or enjoy romantic meals together with plenty of dining space and the well-equipped, bespoke kitchen. In the morning, when you wake up, you can take in the fantastic woodland and countryside views from the bedroom’s Juliet balcony. Directly outside the property is a bench, an ideal place to enjoy a morning coffee while your hound stretches their legs. Alternatively, opposite the cottage is a seating area with table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining, to be enjoyed with a local beer or glass of wine. While enjoying the lovely outdoor space, you may be visited by the local wildlife and birds and guests are welcome to explore the farmland with their four-legged friend on a lead through the established tracks. You can also help feed the lambs or enjoy clay pigeon shooting on-site!
Only 2 miles away, to the delight of fishermen and walkers (of the two and four-legged varieties), is Waskerley Reservoir, a 350-hectare lake in the heather moorlands. For golfers, there are plenty of local courses including the well-known course at Slaley Hall, 11 miles from the cottage. Travelling a little further afield, 18 miles north, you can visit the historic town of Corbridge for a stroll along the banks of the river past Corbridge Mill to the Corbridge Roman Site, where dogs are welcome on leads in the grounds.
