Perfect for outdoors enthusiasts, this contemporary cottage enjoys a great location in the east of the Peak District National Park, with the majestic Chatsworth House also close by.

In a quiet village setting, this luxurious cottage easily sleeps four across two bedrooms with space for two canine pals too. It’s ideal for families and walkers who want a comfortable and stylish place to relax in before heading out to enjoy the variety of terrain that this region offers, from its gently rolling hills to the rugged moorland plateau of Kinder Scout. There’s a lawned garden and parking for one car at the front of the property with shared access, and close by, you’ll find the owner’s home and B&B next door, a neighbouring pub, a restaurant (1.5 miles), and a shop (2 miles).

On arrival, take a set of steps with a wrought-iron handrail up to the cottage interior which is all on one level. Enter the patio doors into the cosy lounge where relaxed seating embraces a toasty wood burner. A TV and DVD, books, films, and games keep guests entertained, though your canine pals hope that their four-legged sense of humour will be more interesting. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area has every convenience to make your stay comfortable, and the bedrooms could not be closer when the land of nod beckons. Outside, there’s a large lawned garden with a private hot tub and seating for sunny afternoons. Enjoy al fresco dining around the BBQ. There is also a lovely water feature.

For heritage days out, stately Chatsworth House is just 5 miles away, with a fascinating history and popularity as a film location. Explore picturesque towns and villages nearby, including Baslow (2 miles), Bakewell (6 miles) and Hathersage (8.5 miles). Easy to access this lovely property, and upon access you are greeted with local produce, which is delicious! Plenty of info on the cottage and surrounding area to make our stay easy and enjoyable. We were straight in the hot tub, which had a beautiful view. The beds were lovely and comfortable and a nice layout of the entire cottage. Lovely cottage in a perfect area to explore the Peak District. Lovely walks straight from the beautifully maintained back garden. The extra touches when we arrived were lovely too - fresh bread, eggs, bacon, sausages, butter, milk, homemade brownies and lemon curd. A perfect family holiday.

A second stay in this fantastic cottage. Really comfortable with lots of extra touches - great welcome food basket, dog blanket, bowl and treats for our dog. Equipped with everything you need, spotlessly clean. Great walks from the back garden - the only shame was the wet weather, but meant we made use of the log burner. Lovely cottage just outside Baslow. The cottage is well equipped and has a huge garden out to the back, from which you can then walk up to Birchen Edge and on to the moors. Two decent sized bedrooms, lovely lounge, and good kitchen/diner. Dog friendly too so perfect for us with our labrador!
