This thoughtfully-designed property comprises two-holiday cottages and is perfect for a family gathering or friends’ reunion – with the furry friends, too, of course! Sleeping up to fourteen humans and welcoming two dogs with open paws, everyone is invited to enjoy this rural retreat. After a brisk walk in the nearby Cotswolds, enjoy a BBQ on the patio while Fido and the kids play nearby.

Dust off muddy boots and paws before returning home to the larger of the two properties, after a day of exploring. Relax and chat in the lounge, with a content pooch enjoying all of the fuss from so many special people. Head into the kitchen to check on the stew bubbling away in the oven – ample worktop space means that everyone will be able to help with the cooking. Enjoy an evening meal around the table in the large dining room and plan tomorrow’s adventures with Fido listening intently for the mention of ‘walkies’. After a long day, head off to rest weary legs in one of the five light and airy bedrooms that the two properties provide. Enjoy a morning pastry and coffee around the table in the beautifully-decorated lounge/diner after a good night’s sleep in the smaller of the two cottages.

Stretch your legs and sniff every sniff on the woodland trail through the large area of forest called Wychwood, near Charlbury (13 miles). Stroll around the stunning dog-friendly grounds of Blenheim Palace (15 miles), or venture into the historical, academic city of Oxford for the day (16 miles). After working up an appetite, enjoy a treat at one of the nearby pubs in the village of Bampton (2.5 miles) that welcome dogs and humans.

This is the second year running I and a group of aging school friends and wives have stayed at the property. Its a very comfortable and welcoming property which is perfect for accommodating a large group of people.

A delightful cottage that was perfect for a family gathering and birthday celebration. It was very homely and plenty of space and bathrooms for everyone, was in easy reach of wildlife park and country surroundings. The owner was most helpful and provided everything we needed. Worth a visit and would recommend to others.

I cannot recommend this house enough! It is a beautiful house and fit 10 of us perfectly. There were ample facilities and it was lovely and cosy. Great location, great hosts and great value for money. Definitely will be coming back

We had a great family long weekend here. Very good size property and good to have separate cottage as well but still enough room to all eat and socialise together in the main house. Great to have the enclosed patio area to be able to let the dog out. Lots of restrictions with dog though, so they need to be very obedient if you take one. Main bedrooRead morem bed not very comfortable but en suite very spacious as are all the rooms. It was great to have the houses decorated for Christmas, nice touch. Hide

In a tranquil setting, with lots of space, this is the perfect base for a Cotswold break. We were 3 families (4 generations). We had both properties. Lots of kitchen equipment, high chairs and cot as needed , plenty of seating inside and out. Would also suit a group of adults. Highly recommend. For anyone with children, the Cotwsold Wildlife Park iRead mores a must. Hide

For an annual get together of old school friends and partners, Orchard Barn proved to be a perfect place to stay. Clean and cosy, it has every angle covered and we all very quickly felt at home. Host Pippa was also extremely helpful and very responsive to our needs. We hope to return.

Just returned from a week in Orchard Barn and Thames View that was very enjoyable. Nine 'oldies' found it to be spacious and light with modern fittings, plenty of kitchen utensils and enough champagne glasses for all.! We enjoyed eating together in the big window area and there were enough outdoor chairs and cushions for when the sun shone. Amazing place! The welcome pack was most generous. Everything about the venue was of a very high standard. The bathrooms were exceptional, the living area most comfortable for all 10 of us to spread out and the patio area a most welcome addition.
