Unwind and let the every day stresses disappear in the stunning Peak District cottage. So much thought has gone into styling every inch of this cottage providing a memorable country escape.

This charming stone-built cottage sits prettily within the picturesque village of Baslow, nestled in the greenery and stunning countryside of the Peak District. Sleeping four humans and welcoming two hounds, everyone is invited to explore and make memories together. After a day of exploring the hills and nearby trails, dust off muddy paws and boots and warm up in front of the open fire with a hot chocolate.

Relax on the comfy sofa in the lounge, with a sprawled out pup at your feet, dreaming of tomorrow’s walkies. Admire the original wooden beams present throughout the house, as well as the character features, bespoke furniture and handpicked fabrics. Enjoy a family meal around the ornate table in the beautifully decorated contemporary kitchen/diner. Make the most of the afternoon sun in the conservatory with a good book, as Fido strolls around the paved patio. At the end of a long day, weary legs are beckoned by one of the two stunning bedrooms. Wake feeling refreshed and enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine as you plan the day’s adventures.

Spend the day exploring the beautiful dog-friendly gardens and park of Chatsworth House (2.5 miles) or head to the historic town of Bakewell (4.5 miles) for a well-deserved treat. Follow the former Midland railway line of the Monsal Trail (4.5 miles) for as far as your two or four legs will take you. This traffic-free footpath runs for 8.5 miles weaving through the national park, through tunnels and past the stunning rolling hills and countryside.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A brilliant stay at this wonderful cottage - felt like home as soon as we walked through the door! So comfortable and cosy - perfect for our little Border Terrier who loved sitting in the conservatory looking out on the lovely and very secure garden. What a find - we will return soon!

Our first visit to the Peak District, and so glad I chose this cottage. It is superbly equipped and had the most comfortable beds. Its in a great location and the local pubs were very welcoming. The dogs loved it too, including the biscuits! Highly recommend *****

Location spot on. Comfort of bed and furniture spot on. Garden perfect for dog. In the 2 weeks there we used our car 4 times as we walked from base - averaging 7 miles a day. Thank you.

Old Well Cottage was an absolute delight. Beautifully furnished and decorated throughout, with every comfort. The location is perfect with lots of amazing walks on the doorstep. Lovely cottage in very pleasant area. The cottage was very cosy and welcoming and we had a lovely stay. However, the garden area was a bit disappointing as it was quite overgrown which seemed a shame in comparison as it has the potential to be a lovely seating area. Great location, this cottage is perfectly appointed for a staycation. We had dogs in tow, and they couldnt have been more welcome. Full of lovely finishing touches, this cottage is just perfect. Lots of great walks, good pubs nearby, and Chatsworth is a pleasant stroll. Could easily have stayed longer.

Within a couple of minutes walk are a small Spar and larger CoOp for all everyday needs plus more. Fantastic property within walking distance of Chatsworth and good base for exploring Peak District. The property is old so has plenty of character BUT has all the mod cons, there are no draughts and the heating is so efficient we had to keep it off most of the time as it was too warm! Very very comfortable mattresses and lovely bed linen.

Wow! I am reluctant to write this review as I'd rather like to keep this cottage to myself! Everything about it is perfect, even our elderly dog was completely at home here. The fire, the location and the walks, the maps provided, dog towels and treats, the list is endless. If I really had to make a criticism it would be the lack of grass for a morRead morening wee (not me, the dog) but I really couldn't fault the cottage or the owner. We will be back! Hide
