Settle in for a superb stay in Appledore, Devon. Up to four guests and two of their best furry friends are welcome at this delightful character home, which nestles right in the heart of the picturesque fishing village. Walk less than 1 mile to reach the Northam Burrows Country Park, with its many footpaths, and head onto the miles of flat sandy beach at Westward Ho! Hop on the ferry from Appledore with your perfect pets in high season to get to Instow Beach, where there are also sections suitable for stretching furry legs.
Head home from fun-filled days out to unwind together in your open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its attractive, exposed stonework. Light the wood burner on chilly evenings, switch on the Smart TV and let your exhausted pals find a quiet corner to doze in. Prepare tasty meals for everyone in your group and serve doggy dinners in the kitchen and everyone else at the table. Take Rex and Rover for a last stroll before bed, then head upstairs to find both your bedrooms and the family shower room. And after morning walkies the following day, return home to drink coffee on the patio.
Attempt a section of the South West Coast Path, England’s longest waymarked long-distance footpath, from Appledore. Embark upon a stretch forming part of a circular 7-mile walk, passing through the unique, wild landscape of Northam Burrows, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Ponder on the beach to splash in the shallows and leave paw prints on the sand. Drive approximately 18 miles from your holiday home to the edge of Exmoor National Park, where you will find a myriad of wonderful walks through woodland and moorland, and beside rivers.
