This charming and quirky stone-built property sits close to the north Cornwall coast in an idyllic spot on the edge of the Hartland Heritage Coast, perfect for exercising your four-legged friend. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms and with one pup welcome, it is ideal for a family break by the coast.

This quaint property, decorated in a relaxed, traditional style, has a cosy, open-plan living space, with a neat, well-equipped kitchen and adjacent dining table, and a lounge area, with comfy sofas arranged invitingly around a wood burner – perfect for relaxing together in the evening while Fido dozes in the warmth. A pleasant sunroom sits at the rear of the property, perfect for a post-walk coffee on chillier mornings. The three bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor, are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The third bedroom is galleried, overlooking the lounge but can be separated with a curtain. Outside, there is a delightful private patio and a large, shared, lawned area, complete with play equipment, perfect for letting the children and the dog run around in the sunshine.

There are plenty of waggy-tailed walks to be had in the area, with the South West Coast Path less than a mile away, and an array of little coves and beaches to explore where your precious pup can enjoy a splash in the waves. Dog-friendly Sandymouth Bay (10 miles) is ideal for families, with vast swathes of golden sand and a handy beach café. Take a scenic drive to the National Trust’s Boscastle village (9 miles) for a walk down to the picturesque quay before having lunch in one of the dog-friendly pubs, or head to bustling Bude (6 miles) and take a brisk stroll along the canal.

We used the cottsge/barn conversion as a base for the week and found most places we wanted to go to within easy reach as it's on the main Atlanic Highway linking North Devon and Cornwall

Beautiful, comfy cottage ideally located to access the local area. Gill, the owner gives a very warm welcome. Lots of outdoor space for dogs/ children to run around. The garden is not overly secure from the road so dogs/ children would need to be properly supervised. Overall, this was a lovely place to stay and would definitely recommend and stay aRead moregain. This is a great house in the summer for a family of kids, parents and grandparents as it offers space and versatility. It was very well located to black rock and Bude. It is near to a main road, which was a little noisy in the morning, but this didnt bother us. The garden was very secure for the kids and dogs. Cottage was perfectly located and ideal for travel around North Cornwall. Could do with a lick of paint and some TLC inside. Security could be improved for children and dogs. All in all a good 3/5 and we would stay again, but wouldn't pay the same amount.

Lovely cottage in a nice setting. Nice play area for children and safe with the gate shut. The cottage had everything you could need. Gill was very helpful but not intrusive.
