The period property, in the charming village of Hackforth, sleeps six guests and two furry friends. The village has a woof-friendly pub, as well as some great countryside walks. Further afield, the market town of Bedale is 4.5 miles away, where you’ll discover elegant Georgian buildings and beautiful riverside walks. The cottage has bags of character, with rustic exposed beams and fabulous stonework. The cosy lounge has a roaring wood burner to snuggle in front of, either watching a film or playing traditional board games. There’s also ample room in here for the woofers to make themselves at home. Rustle up a tasty meal in the country-cottage style kitchen, before enjoying an evening of laughter and great food around the large dining table. To the rear, there’s an enclosed garden with a lawn where the hounds can play, as well as seating and a BBQ.

It’s easy to spend a few hours pottering around the traditional Yorkshire town of Bedale. Admire the elegant Georgian buildings and historic market square, before grabbing a bite to eat in the paw-friendly pub and strolling along the pretty Bedale Beck. We had a fabulous holiday. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We ate out at the local pub (less than 5 mins walk) a couple of times and the locals are very welcoming and friendly. Gary, the owner, was in the pub on our first visit, and next day showed us the nearest dog walk (which is very close by) where they can be off the lead.
