Receive a warm welcome at this bolthole as you arrive to traditional scones with all the trimmings. Step inside and settle down in this home, which welcomes guests with both two and four legs, and get planning tomorrow’s adventures. An abundance of fantastic stick-chasing, wave-splashing and cliff-wandering spots lie within easy reach, with beaches and seaside villages dotting the local landscape.

Open-plan living makes good use of the ground-floor space; snuggle up on the sofa, switch on the TV or tickle a furry tummy in the light-filled lounge before heading to the kitchen to rustle up a feast. Gaze over the garden as you blend flavours and cook up a storm and on warmer days, throw open the door which leads outside via a step down and enjoy the fresh air. Climb the stairs to reach the mezzanine-level master bedroom which overlooks the living space below. Sloping ceilings add quirk and charm although headroom is slightly restricted.

Summer months call for evenings spent on the patio garden, for your canine chum so they can sniff out new scents to their heart’s. For a taste of maritime magic head to the harbour town of Ilfracombe, 4 miles from home, where you can take a boat trip, roam the winding streets or enjoy a tasty ice cream. Splash in the sea and chase sticks 10 miles away at Woolacombe then hunt out the secluded cove of Barricane to catch the sunset.

We had a lovely week staying in this cosy cottage, it felt like home from home! The cottage had everything you need in it and personal homely touches. The location was nice and quiet and only a 5 minute drive from Combe Martin. We had a fab time!

Very happy with our stay at The Old Dogs House. The whole property is furnished to a high standard and is very cosy and comfortable. The super king sized bed is really comfortable and we slept well. The welcome pack was appreciated so were the fresh flowers. We would return and will recommend.

Loved the cottage, it was beautifully renovated, clean and comfortable. The village was very welcoming and the local shop excellent Our only slight disappointment was the lack of public footpaths in the local vicinity which meant we had to drive a fair bit

The cottage itself is immaculate with all mod cons whilst retaining a beautiful rustic charm with its wooden beams and fabulous views. The superking sized bed is sooo comfortable and the fresh flowers, cookies, milk and bottle of wine on arrival were a lovely welcome and very much appreciated!

We had a marvelous week at the Old Dogs House. We received a welcome pack, with wine and the flowers. The property was so cozy. Spotless clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was so much thought put into every detail. We had a secluded courtyard, off street parking, beautiful views and the location was in the heart of the village. A short walkRead more to the South West Coastal Path, Combe Martin, several beaches and wonderful pubs. We couldn't fault a thing and we're planning to return again soon. Hide

20/02/23 (4 nights) Mike and Sharon. This cottage has all you need for a short break, clean, tidy and well equipped. The local shop and pub are handy and both a short walk away. Roads in and out are a bit tight but no issues for us. Ilfracombe and Combe Martin a short drive away. The gift of a bottle of wine, biscuits and tea stuff is a nice touch.

The Dogs House is such a credit to the owners and in a village that is a credit to the villagers. From the minute we arrived we knew we had booked a gem. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and the bed is so big and comfy I wanted to move in. The village is so pretty and the shop a delight. Great location for Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
