Come together with friends and family to enjoy this rural North Yorkshire retreat with acres of space to explore from the doorstep and the beautiful coast a short drive away, this location has it all.
This manor house is fit for a very special occasion for you and 21 of your closest friends. Make yourselves at home in these historic rooms and extensive grounds — your dog will have the time of her life exploring the beaches around the North Yorkshire coast and the heights of the moors.
Arrive at the grand property around the romantic pendulum garden. The first stop is your big, hearty farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you’ll enjoy plotting your day’s excursions. On into the cosy sitting room which has a wood burner in a traditional brick hearth where you’ll no doubt find Fido curled up in front of. The dining room is the perfect place to while away the evening, with a piano for a good old knees-up and French doors that open out onto the garden. The bedrooms are palatial in this property; 11 in total, including seven doubles. Plus, there are five en-suite bathrooms with some impressive bathtubs for ultimate relaxation. As much as the outdoors around the Yorkshire coast offers, the house is its own adventure with grassy grounds stretching out in all directions, little nooks and seating areas to discover, and the pendulum garden for ultimate country grandeur.
But, if you want to make the most of the moorland, get your walking boots on. The hikes and trails of the North York Moors National Park begin from Staithes itself. Explore the heather-covered moorland, the woods and rivers, and find your own adventure in this land that’s so rich in natural and human history. Closer to home, explore the stunning old fishing village of Staithes, nestled into the cliffs where the Staithes Beck pours into the North Sea less than a mile away. Discover where the real Captain Cook began his maritime career or head to the sand so your furry friend can gallop along the peaceful waves.
There are ongoing renovations close to, but not directly affecting the cottage – the owner ensures any works are considerately timed so that they do no disturb guests.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
