This beautiful, detached barn conversion is set in a tranquil rural setting amidst a working farm. Combining contemporary style with character features this is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday
This former farm building sleeps six guests and either one large dog or two small canine companions. Set on a working farm, you’ll discover lovely walks criss-crossing the surrounding land and leading to the countryside beyond. The property is less than 10 miles from the coast, where you and the four-legged ones can explore dog-friendly beaches such as Cogden (8 miles) and Eype (6 miles). Head slightly further along the coast, and you’ll find the pretty coastal resort of Lyme Regis.
The warm and welcoming detached property cleverly mixes contemporary touches and splashes of colour with original features, such as the exposed beams in the lounge area. This is a great space for your guests and the dogs to unwind after a long walk and take in the gorgeous rural views. The spacious kitchen/diner has a vaulted ceiling and is the perfect space to all gather to plan the day’s itinerary. There’s a handy utility room to store all your dog-walking gear and hard floors downstairs make dealing with muddy pawprints nice and easy. Outside, a patio surrounds the property and there is a lawned area beyond, where the dogs will enjoy a good sniff and explore.
It’s easy to pick up the South West Coast Path, where you can enjoy far-reaching sea views. A dramatic and exhilarating route takes you from the pretty resort of West Bay (5.5 miles away) to Burton Bradstock. Although dogs aren’t allowed on the beach at West Bay during the summer months, the bustling harbour is still well worth exploring and there are some great seafood restaurants. Nearby Lyme Regis (14 miles away) is full of history and charm (it even features in the Domesday Book!), and has some fabulous dog-friendly beaches, including Monmouth and East Cliff, which are popular with fossil hunters.
