  • Peaceful and quiet courtyard area for morning coffee and al fresco dining
  • Well positioned for exploring the harbours and beaches of Cornwall’s south coast
Property code: 81824

An extraordinary reverse level property with a stylish finish in a tranquil countryside location. An ideal base for exploring the attractions that Cornwall has to offer, on both countryside and coast.

Slow down the pace a little to explore the traditional fishing towns and villages that hug the south-east Cornish coastline. Sleeping up to four guests, this stylish converted barn is perfect for couples or a small family looking to escape the stresses of everyday life. And your beloved canine can come too, so won’t have to miss out on the fun. Go off the beaten track in the Rame Peninsula, a gorgeous landscape of tidal creeks, country parks and dog-friendly beaches.

Set among a cluster of barns, the cottage has a reverse-level layout, with the open-plan living area on the first floor to make the most of the farmland views. Rover will relish being made a fuss of by everyone as you spend time relaxing in this room. Sink into the sofa and watch a movie on the Smart TV with Blu-ray, letting your sleepy canine snooze next to the warming wood burner. On rainy afternoons, play games on the Nintendo Wii or bake a cake in the electric Range oven. If it’s a sunny day, make a fresh coffee in the Nespresso machine and sit outside in the garden while Rover stretches his legs on the lawn, which is safely enclosed by a fence.

The sand and shingle beaches at Downderry and Seaton, both 2 miles away, will give your ball chaser the opportunity to burn off some energy and splash in the surf. Looe (7 miles) offers a fabulous family day out, with glass-bottom boat trips, ice cream parlours and quirky shops. You can also take your seafaring pup on a ferry ride from Cawsand Beach (10 miles) to Plymouth to sniff out the city’s naval history. For long hikes in glorious countryside, drive 15 miles inland to Bodmin Moor.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king bed and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric Range oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and washer/dryer
  • Full-size cot and highchair available
  • Underfloor heating in the bathroom
  • Smart TV, Blu-ray player, soundbar, PlayStation 4 with games and DAB radio in lounge and TV/DVD in the super-king-size bedroom
  • A separate lawn area a short distance from the property and a courtyard, both with garden furniture
  • Gas BBQ
  • Off-road parking for 2 cars
  • Beach 2 miles, shop over a mile away and pub half a mile
  • Private water supply
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards

This is definitely the best holiday home we have ever stayed in and there have been many. Only 1 very small inconvenience - sadly no good dog walks directly from cottage. So 99.9% perfect!

What an amazingly beautiful cottage Milkmaids is! The owners have literally thought of everything for guests and even the 4 legged kind, we had such a lovely time on our holiday and being in the cottage of an evening from a long day exploring was so relaxing. Thank you.

Location was perfect location for places like seaton and looe. Very peaceful and nice listening to all the birds at night. Cottage was very clean and a good size for a family of 4 and a dog. Will be stopping again in the future. Also the neighbour was amazing letting me and my daughter feed his 3 horses in the morning

Just come home from a lovely week in Milkmaids Cottage. The cottage is spotlessly clean, warm, very comfortable and has everything that you could want for a family holiday. They even provided dog treats and dog bags for our Westie. The weather wasn't brilliant but the fact that there was a log burner and access to Netflix and Amazon Prime on the twRead moreo smart tv's made it a lot more enjoyable than it could have been. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future. The Willcocks Hide

This delightful upsidedown accommodation was quiet and well maintained. The cottage was so comfortable, clean and bigger than it looked on the photos. Upstairs gave a stunning view of sunrises and it was such a cosy place to relax in the evenings. It has been really well thought out by the owners and all creature comforts have been provided. Amazing barn, exactly as it is in the pictures. So clean, every appliance imaginable and more. PlayStation was a hit, family monopoly night! Location is great, 5 minutes from Seaton beach. Only downside is the pub is quite far, but don't let this put you off. Absolutely amazing property 5*
