An extraordinary reverse level property with a stylish finish in a tranquil countryside location. An ideal base for exploring the attractions that Cornwall has to offer, on both countryside and coast.
Slow down the pace a little to explore the traditional fishing towns and villages that hug the south-east Cornish coastline. Sleeping up to four guests, this stylish converted barn is perfect for couples or a small family looking to escape the stresses of everyday life. And your beloved canine can come too, so won’t have to miss out on the fun. Go off the beaten track in the Rame Peninsula, a gorgeous landscape of tidal creeks, country parks and dog-friendly beaches.
Set among a cluster of barns, the cottage has a reverse-level layout, with the open-plan living area on the first floor to make the most of the farmland views. Rover will relish being made a fuss of by everyone as you spend time relaxing in this room. Sink into the sofa and watch a movie on the Smart TV with Blu-ray, letting your sleepy canine snooze next to the warming wood burner. On rainy afternoons, play games on the Nintendo Wii or bake a cake in the electric Range oven. If it’s a sunny day, make a fresh coffee in the Nespresso machine and sit outside in the garden while Rover stretches his legs on the lawn, which is safely enclosed by a fence.
The sand and shingle beaches at Downderry and Seaton, both 2 miles away, will give your ball chaser the opportunity to burn off some energy and splash in the surf. Looe (7 miles) offers a fabulous family day out, with glass-bottom boat trips, ice cream parlours and quirky shops. You can also take your seafaring pup on a ferry ride from Cawsand Beach (10 miles) to Plymouth to sniff out the city’s naval history. For long hikes in glorious countryside, drive 15 miles inland to Bodmin Moor.
