A characterful and cosy rural retreat in a tranquil location, offering a great base from which to enjoy the outdoors and explore this unspoilt area of mid Wales.

Tucked away on an 80-acre farm, just north of the Brecon Beacons, escape to this humble abode for a romantic retreat. Whilst holidaying, treat your canine companions to endless games of fetch in the surrounding fields, and show them some of the best stick chasing spots around as you venture into the dramatic Welsh countryside.

Make your way inside and find yourselves in the hallway, a handy space to leave muddy boots and to towel down soggy fur when returning from adventures. Stock up the cupboards in the kitchenette, where you should find all you need to rustle together tasty titbits and cook up a three-course meal. Choose a sofa each and take a moment to rest and unwind, moving only to dish out strokes and treats if you’re get the puppy-dog eyes! For evening sunset watching or a post-adventure tail chase, head outside to the pretty courtyard where you can enjoy sipping a tipple. For the perfect sundowner evening, fire up the BBQ and sizzle up something special for all to enjoy. For a real treat, soak yourself in the bubbling hot tub (shared with other properties on-site) before making your way back inside. Rest heads in the inviting bedroom which resides on the first floor and has an en-suite shower room.

A 28-mile trip south will take you to the cathedral city of Brecon. Kick start your day with a waterside wander by the Brecon Canal Basin, before finding a seat at a dog-friendly pub and enjoying a treat or two. Closer to home, visit the stunning RSPB Gwenffrwd-Dinas nature reserve, 8 miles away, where you can wander through woodlands and sniff out new scents and sticks, and follow winding rivers, keeping your eyes peeled for the fantastic birdlife who call this place home.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a very warm welcome, all the information was comprehensive and the cottage was decorated and appointed beautifully. It was a very rural location, quiet with plenty of beautiful places of interest and walks to visit with few people around meaning that we saw and heard some local wildlife which was great!
