Enjoying a rural location on the edge of the quaint village of Monyash. Make the most of the sunny gardens with a BBQ and direct access to walks and cycle routes through beautiful scenery.

Commanding a delightful location at the heart of the Peak District, this beautifully converted farm building is perfectly situated for a fabulous couples’ retreat – accompanied by your furry friends, of course. You’ll have access to numerous picturesque country walks, and in Monyash and nearby Buxton there are some great dog-friendly cafes and pubs.

The open-plan living and dining area provides ample space to spread out and enjoy a relaxing getaway together. The wooden floors also make cleaning up after messy pups as fuss-free as possible. There’s plenty of outdoor space in the shared garden, where your four-legged companions will no doubt enjoy having a good sniff and explore.

Monyash is an attractive old limestone village and is geared up for walkers and their muddy canine sidekicks. If you’re up for a hearty breakfast, you could head to The Old Smithy Tearooms or if you fancy a drink after a long walk, The Bulls Head welcomes dogs and provides water bowls (and other beverages – in glasses - for their human guests!).The Monyash Meander is a lovely little 2-mile stroll, following The Limestone Way, and is very popular with dog walkers. Slightly further afield is the traffic-free Tissington Trail, and you can park at Parsley Hay (2 miles from the cottage). The historic spa town of Buxton is just 8.5 miles away and is well worth a visit, too. Set at 300 metres above sea level, it has been welcoming visitors to its natural thermal springs since Roman times. Again, the town is well-equipped for dog walkers, with many eateries to choose from.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely location with easy access to the Lathkill Dale and the start of the high peak/tissington trail. The cottage itself was clean and had everything you could need. It was located next to a working farm and had enclosed gardens. There was a pub just over a mile away in Monyash which was unfortunately closed due to covid but in the opposite directRead moreion, there was the Royal Oak which served amazing food and was a 10 minute walk away. The cottage is very comfortable, well heated and, with a situation next to a working farm, provides very traditional sights, sounds & smells of the countryside. We were fortunate enough to be there during calving & Lambing. Nearby is a very good ice cream supply as well as cafe. We wished we had checked the exact location of our cottage, as it was right alongside a busy road so lots of traffic noise - No view , other than from our bedroom so we relocated there for most of our indoors time and put chairs next to the window. The grounds were very well kept and tidy and dogs truly welcomed.

Nice complex of cottages close to many of the Peak Districts attractions. Only down side for us was the lack of places to walk the dog from the door
