Set amidst the rural landscape of the Somerset Levels, this cottage offers comfortable accommodation for up to two dogs and their four human companions. The property’s location gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to a day out exploring, with the coast and its stretch of golden beaches to the west, and the Mendip Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the east. On your return, while away the evenings in the lounge where there’s room enough for everyone: spread your four-legged friend’s favourite blanket or bed in front of the wood burner, and they will be in doggy heaven.

A cottage full of character, the downstairs rooms feature exposed wood beams and stone fireplaces. The décor is bright and homely, while upstairs the double bedrooms are light and spacious, just be mindful of the low doorway on one of them. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, ideal for cleaning up after those rainy-day walks, which is shared by the owner who lives in the charming bijou annexe. Out of doors there is a large flat lawn with plenty of room for a picnic in the sun. Please note that the garden is not enclosed.

Venture into Wedmore village on foot, and discover the range of local cafes, pubs and restaurants, including a vintage tea shop and stylish village pub which are both dog friendly. Wedmore also boasts a professional dog grooming studio at its centre, perfect for pampering your pup. Day trips out to the seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea (9 miles) and Weston-super-Mare (15 miles) will satisfy the need to feel sand between your toes and paws, or head to Cheddar (4.5 miles), the historic village with a myriad of attractions including the Cheddar Cheese Visitor Centre and the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and caves.

This is a lovely, roomy well equipped dog friendly cottage. Two very good double bedrooms, one with en-suite, with a downstairs bathroom too. It has a spacious lounge, dining room and kitchen and utility with freezer and washing machine. Lovely garden and off road parking. It's about a 15 min walk from the village centre, which has a couple of pubsRead more and well stocked store, among other quaint shops. Easy access to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and the coast. We loved our stay & would recommend it. Hide

A lovely, comfortable, cottage. Deceptively spacious, with a welcoming cottage garden. Both beds are super-comfy and the en-suite shower is a good size and pressure. I can well imagine that the cottage would be equally welcoming in the winter - with the log-burner lit! Having some decent pubs with good food only a short walk away is a bonus.

We had a lovely time at Mendip View, it is such a convenient location for many sites and towns, not to mention the village of Wedmore itself. My only regret was that the weather prevented us enjoying the beautiful garden as much as I wanted - need to book another stay.

Very comfortable stay in such a pretty home. Comfy beds and great shower/bath facilities. Situated on a fairly quiet lane and not far to walk to cafes, pubs and shops. Easy commuting distance to Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Taunton, Bath, etc. The dogs loved the garden for morning stretches on the grass and watching the red squirrel in the tree.

Lovely cottage quiet location but easily accessible to all main towns / villages. Cottage well equiped. Definitely will return to area and the cottage. Advice doing the two short wedmore walks to see the old part of the village and learn bit of history.

Mendip View is a really lovely, cosy, traditional cottage with everything you need including a wonderful log burner fire. It is well located for many activities yet in a peaceful position on the edge of Wedmore. Rosalind, the owner, is a thoughtful and considerate host. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely 4 nights stay in this beautiful well equipped cottage. Clean, comfortable & warm thanks to the central heating and feature log burner. Situated on the out skirts of a beautiful village with a brilliant selection of well stocked stores. 3 nice Inns all selling a good selection of food, beers & wines. Owner nearby if needed.

Cottage was comfortable and suited our needs. Nice sized rooms. Situated on the edge of the village, it was close to the centre but quiet, with no traffic; just the occasional horse rider! We will definitely go again when next in the area.
