Set amidst the rural landscape of the Somerset Levels, this cottage offers comfortable accommodation for up to two dogs and their four human companions. The property’s location gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to a day out exploring, with the coast and its stretch of golden beaches to the west, and the Mendip Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the east. On your return, while away the evenings in the lounge where there’s room enough for everyone: spread your four-legged friend’s favourite blanket or bed in front of the wood burner, and they will be in doggy heaven.
A cottage full of character, the downstairs rooms feature exposed wood beams and stone fireplaces. The décor is bright and homely, while upstairs the double bedrooms are light and spacious, just be mindful of the low doorway on one of them. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, ideal for cleaning up after those rainy-day walks, which is shared by the owner who lives in the charming bijou annexe. Out of doors there is a large flat lawn with plenty of room for a picnic in the sun. Please note that the garden is not enclosed.
Venture into Wedmore village on foot, and discover the range of local cafes, pubs and restaurants, including a vintage tea shop and stylish village pub which are both dog friendly. Wedmore also boasts a professional dog grooming studio at its centre, perfect for pampering your pup. Day trips out to the seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea (9 miles) and Weston-super-Mare (15 miles) will satisfy the need to feel sand between your toes and paws, or head to Cheddar (4.5 miles), the historic village with a myriad of attractions including the Cheddar Cheese Visitor Centre and the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and caves.
