  • An ideal idyllic romantic holiday for couples
  • Perfect for a secluded, peaceful and relaxing holiday
  • Enjoy gorgeous views overlooking 20 acres of stunning gardens
Property code: MARWO

This elegant apartment overlooks stunning private gardens, covering some 20 acres with three lakes, and provides a haven in which to relax and enjoy plants, trees, woodland areas and glorious views.

Lakes, trees and vibrant plants adorn the land outside the windows of this apartment, creating a calming ambience perfect for romantic escapes to beautiful North Devon. The quiet village of Marwood is wonderfully situated close to bustling towns and a handful of beaches where picnics, stick-fetching and sunset-chasing will blow the cobwebs away and have you and your four-legged friend feeling refreshed and revived.

Cosy up in front of the fire in the lounge/dining area of this ground floor apartment. Your first basket of logs is ready and waiting (for lighting, not nibbling!). After rustling up a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen, dine in style at the table which overlooks the magnificent Marwood Hill Gardens. After dinner, enjoy a stroll around the gardens and let your furry friend sniff and scurry to their heart’s content. Sleep well in the calming bedroom which is elegantly decorated, before waking up and enjoying a cup of tea or a tail chase. Feast your eyes on your beautiful surroundings and lap the lake to stretch your legs.

Step foot outside of your idyllic dwelling and explore the abundance of spots nearby where you and your canine companions can have a ball. Jump over waves and discover driftwood for chewing and chasing at Saunton Sands, 9 miles from home. Venture onto the South West Coast Path at Baggy Point, 11 miles away, for a well-trodden route and treat yourself to a cream tea and a tasty treat. Slightly further afield, Lynton and Lynmouth, 19 miles away, are the perfect places to enjoy fish and chips on the harbour after riding the cliff railway.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Great, peaceful location, fabulous gardens, a perfect retreat for 2...and a little dog ! Negotiating traffic around single track country roads, with giant farm machinery in transit and few passing places was the only downside !

The apartment has everything you need. On arrival there is a loaf bread,a pint of milk teabags and a little butter waiting for you. I think this a lovely touch. The views are amazing and the apartment it's self is very comfortable and homely. We very much enjoyed our time at Marwood hill garden apartment, I would also like to add how much our littlRead moree dog Poppie enjoyed it too. Hide

The apartment was just right for us and had all the facilities we needed. We loved the surroundings and had wonderful walks around the garden with our dog. It takes a bit of getting use to the roads around the village and was a shame that it didn't have a local pub or small shop but not too much of a issue. We went out of season so the tea room wasRead more closed but a plus was we had the garden mostly to ourselves, most of the time. The gardeners were around so allowed us to look at the plants on sale. Hide

A spacious and comfortable apartment in an idyllic setting; the view over the garden is magnificent. The wood burning stove was much appreciated on a chilly autumn evening and made the lounge really cosy. We come down at least once a year to visit family and I have no doubt we will be looking to stay here again.
