The perfect coastal getaway for family or friends, featuring sea views, a bustling town and a beach - Whitby has something for everyone.
This Victorian property, with views over the marina, sleeps ten guests and two furry friends. The house is perfectly placed to explore the rugged North York Moors; hop on a steam train (0.5 miles away) with the woofer and majestically cruise through the Esk Valley. Alternatively, stride out along one of the many coast paths to find hidden smugglers’ bays and a vast array of wildlife.
The terraced property is decorated in a contemporary style, with plenty of home comforts for a relaxing stay. The house is approached up seven steps and features a glorious terrace, where you can sit with a glass of wine and watch the boats bobbing in the marina. The property has two lounge areas, providing ample room for you all to spread out and find your own peaceful spot. After a windy clifftop walk, curl up with a cuppa and a book in the first-floor lounge, whilst admiring the fabulous waterside views. Why not grab some local seafood and dine alfresco on the terrace? The area is fully enclosed, so Rover and Fido can happily potter around, hoping for a tasty morsel to fall to the floor!
Whilst in Whitby you and the pups must visit the spectacular abbey (less than 2 miles away). Allegedly the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the imposing ruins are quite something – especially at sunset. Take the 199 steps that lead to St Mary’s Church, and marvel at the breathtaking views over the town. From here, there’s a wonderful walk you can do along the cliffs and past Saltwick Bay. Step back in time on a steam train to Goathland (of Harry Potter fame), in the heart of the North York Moors (8.5 miles away) and enjoy a delightful 3-mile walk to Mallyan Spout waterfall.
