Quality time with loved ones, sunny garden snoozes and the promise of a long walk through the Kent countryside tomorrow… it turns out your dog’s holiday needs are pretty similar to yours. Stay in this lovely cottage in the pretty village of Goudhurst for a rural retreat that’s bound to tick everyone’s boxes. It’s perfect for a group or family of six and up to two waggy-tailed guests.

The inside of the house is beautifully decorated, with vaulted ceilings and wooden beams adding character. The open-plan sitting room/kitchen/dining room is ideal for socialising as a group and has a large sofa where humans and canines can stretch out together after a day exploring. Stairs lead to a snug for our canine owners to relax and thaw their toes on a chilly night. The outside spaces are perfect for pets and their fresh-air-loving owners with a courtyard and rewilded garden to enjoy.

The house is in the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you’ve got plenty of walks starting nearby that’ll delight the stick chasers among you – Bedgebury Forest is a great place to start. There are three pubs with gardens in the village for when you fancy a pint, and perhaps stay for dinner if you don’t feel like cooking. For a day out, bundle the kids and the dog in the car and head south to the Kent and East Sussex coastline which offers more excellent options for stimulating walks.

  • Sleeps 4+2 on the sofa bed in the summer house with en-suite.
  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 bunk bedroom
  • 1 shower room, 1 en-suite shower room and 1 separate WC
  • Electric Aga, dishwasher, fridge and Nespresso coffee machine
  • Utility room with washing machine, freezer and a large trough-style sink
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Pubs, shops and restaurant within walking distance
  • Storage for bikes
  • Smart TV with sound bar in lounge
  • Restricted head height in places adds to the character of this cottage
  • Due to the nature of the building, there are some steep stairs in the cottage that might not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties
  • Private off-road parking for 1 car, additional roadside parking available
  • The driveway to the cottage is quite narrow and may not be suitable for large 4x4 cars
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.
