A magnificent Arts and Crafts house, beautiful period features blend effortlessly with contemporary touches, with traditional elements such as the stained-glass windows, grand staircase and oak panelling highlighting the true beauty of this country property. With patio doors to the garden from both the dining room and kitchen, the outdoors are never far away, and open fires in the reception hall, study and lounge ensure there is ample space for everyone to grab a seat in front of the crackling flames. All bedrooms are en-suite and set across the first and second floors. Start the morning with a coffee on the terrace, the perfect spot for al fresco dining. In the evening, take your dinner to the summer house and watch the kids play on the croquet lawn.

 

Picturesque Melrose is located directly on the Southern Upland Way, so walkers, hikers and bikers will be in heaven! Glentress Forest (18 miles) offers hiking/biking trails, a treetop adventure course and horse riding. Galashiels (1.5 miles) has shopping and leisure facilities for the urbanites, or jump on the Scottish Borders Railway, pup in tow, and enjoy day trips to Edinburgh (33 miles). At the end of the day, potter to the local dog-friendly pub, less than a mile away.

 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful period house in a lovely setting and a 20 minute walk to shops,cafs, and restaurants. Very comfortable en-suite rooms. The house was very well equipped. We really loved our stay.

Had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic property. It was very well presented, well maintained, clean and stacks of space. It was great having an en-suite in every bedroom. There was lots of little extras like dressing gowns, slippers and a lovely welcome pack. The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen well equipped. Our family get together here this week has been wonderful. From 88 year old to 3week old (plus 2 dogs) our needs were all met in this beautiful house and grounds with many happy new memories made. In one week we experienced the house on warm sunny days and cold wet ones, feeling comfortable and entertained with indoor and outdoor activities. Your house is wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped with a every high standard product you could want. . The beds were very comfortable with an excellent supply of towels. The gardens provided an excellent play area for our children which they took great advantage of. The town of Galashiels provides a great selection of supermarkets. The house is beautiful and was very clean. It has lovely gardens and is well equipped. There were extras such as fresh flowers and robes provided as well as a good welcome pack, Martin was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble We stayed as a party of 14 made up of three generations and it suited us all, every room having an en suite was a dRead moreefinite bonus too. The house is a magnificent example of early 20th century Arts & Crafts design which the owners have caringly modernised with every state of the art convenience whilst maintaining its originality. We had 2 infanfs and a toddler and had no problems. It is within easy walking distance of Galashiels centre and within 30 minutes drive of Melrose, Kelso,Read more Jedburgh Peebles & Hawick. Superb walking, fishing and golfing within 5 iron distance. Superb accomodation, excellent location- highly recommended. Hide

I would highly recommend this property. It is stunning both inside and out. Has everything you need and more. Martin, the owner, went above and beyond for us and was always just a phone call away. Its a short walk into Galashiels which is a lovely town.

Beautiful, well equipped house, met all expectations, ideal for family get togethers. Plenty of activities to keep all entertained both indoors and outdoors in lovely extensive gardens.
