Sniff out the best walks in the area, discovering Bedale 4 miles away with its bustling market square and variety of shops and eateries, then immerse yourself in the rural splendour on your return. Handily placed for discovering the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Masham is 5.5 miles away and is perhaps best known for its two breweries and 9-hole golf course. Bedale (4 miles) is awash with boutiques and delis that are sure to set your pup’s nose twitching as you pick up local delicacies. Aysgarth Falls are a must-see too and well worth the 20-mile drive to admire their spellbinding cascades.

Great house, perfect for big groups as plenty of en suite bedrooms, 2 television lounges plus formal sitting room, large kitchen with dining area off. House stands alone in its own grounds surrounded by fields so complete privacy and plenty of secure garden for pets. The pub in the village was great; we dined there once and had drinks another nightRead more - very welcoming and dog friendly. We had a fabulous break with our friends in this lovely cottage, the log fire was perfect for those chilly autumn nights and the property had everything we needed to enable us to entertain our guests. A bonus that the major supermarkets also deliver here with easy unloading straight into the kitchen. We will be sure to return.
