This charming barn conversion is located at the heart of the Peak District, making it the ideal destination for guests wishing to explore the dramatic landscape and pretty villages in the area. Full of traditional features, this one-bedroom property is the perfect getaway for couples and their canine companions to enjoy the many countryside walks on offer straight from the front door. Stroll to the village pub where human and canine visitors are welcome to dine or sample the famous pudding at nearby Bakewell.

 

With exposed beams and a charming exposed stone wall, the living room is a cosy space to unwind in after a long walk along the riverbank. When it’s time to rest the paws, upstairs is a lovely double bedroom with en-suite. Your furry friend will enjoy exploring the patio garden, a lovely spot to sip a glass of wine. If you choose to holiday with friends, this cottage can be booked with the neighbouring property to sleep up to four guests in total.

 

With walks of all level accessible from your door step, there will be new routes to discover every day of your stay. Spot grayling and brown trout as you enjoy a relaxing riverbank walk at Baslow (2 miles) before choosing one of the dog-friendly pubs or cafes to take a break in. Spend the day exploring the Curbar Edge, a challenging ridgeway walk that takes you past waterfalls and an ancient stone circle. For a more leisurely walk, take your hound for a stroll around the pretty town of Bakewell (5 miles), sniffing out the medieval courtyards and dog-friendly cafes where you can treat yourself to a slice of the town’s famous dessert.

Lovely cottage for 2. Everything there if your cooking, however if your on holiday the pub at bottom of hill do lovely food, The bridge inn. If you want to watch football, Eyre arms, they do food also. Not far from Bakewell, Chatsworth, eyam and Matlock but be warned, the roads were getting busy around 10ish. What a superb find! This cottage is gorgeous - comfortable, warm, cosy, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Curbar is a lovely village in a perfect spot for walking and exploring the surrounding area. The Bridge Inn was very welcoming and the food excellent, just 10 minutes down the road but the walk back up the hill was a bit of a killer after a Read morebig meal Hide

Well, where do I start? What a gorgeous little cottage, cosy, warm, very clean and tastefully decorated. The location is fantastic, so close to so many wonderful places and experiences. Lovely cottage tucked away for lovely peaceful stay. Handy drive for car parking and unloading the car. Nice walks in the area such as Curbar Edge and Frogatt. A nice relaxing stay!!!

We spent 4 days / 3 nights st the cottage and we absolutely loved it!! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we fell completely in love with the cottage, its surroundings. The cottage is so so clean and tidy, its very well looked after and really does feel a home away from home. This is a perfect little place for a couple or one person. A good spot from which to do nice walks, such as Froggat Edge and circular walk to Eyam. We ate at both local pubs where the food was good and the staff were friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at Lower Barn!

This is a wonderful little place to stay and explore the beautiful Peak District, it was very clean and had everything you would need to stay comfortably. The owners were available by phone for any queries and very helpful. We had a lovely few days there and would have had an even better time if the weather had been better but thats completely uncoRead morentrollable. Chatsworth House is worth a visit as is driving down snake Pass would certainly recommend to friends and family. Hide

Me, my partner and 1 dog stayed at Lower Barn in Calver. Was a beautiful location and the cottage was perfect. They left us some milk and tea. We had some great walks and will definitely be coming back. Wonderful weekend helped by the cottage we stayed at.

Lovely cosy little cottage with a view across the valley from Curbar. Helpful friendly owners. Peace, fresh air, hills, moors and more or less stately homes all on the doorstep.

I loved the cottage and found it very comfortable and cosy. The location was perfect for me being tucked away in the village but within easy reach of good, dog friendly walks, pubs and eateries.

We had a lovely stay at Lower Barn and would highly reccomend. Our ten month old daughter was also part of the holiday and the cottage was perfect for all of us; the owners provided a travel cot and high chair upon request to accommodate us. A lovely, well thought out cottage in a fantastic location. Great for a couple and small dog with some lovely countryside and walks on the doorstep. Local village pub is dog friendly and serves some lovely food. Outdoor patio area isnt enclosed so be aware if taking a dog as they may escape! Overall we had a lovely week away.
