Cottage is set in a beautiful conservation village, ideal countryside location within easy reach of Edinburgh great area for a short break.  This unique and charming property was originally two weaver's cottages, dating back to the 19th Century, now sympathetically transformed into a lovely holiday home retaining some original features.

The cottage is situated just off the main street within the village, just a few minutes’ walk of the excellent local amenities including shops, a pub and restaurant. There are two golf courses and some fantastic walks for all abilities from the front door into the Pentland Hills and along the old Roman road.  Glentress Forest which is ideal for any mountain bike enthusiast is only 18 miles away where bikes can be hired, if you prefer to bring your own bikes there is complimentary lockable storage at the property.  Horse riding is also available within 2 miles of the property.  Edinburgh is just 30 minutes’ drive (with easy access to the Park and Ride) or alternatively use the hourly bus service. Glasgow can be reached in under an hour.

Entering the cottage into the hallway you will find the master bedroom which has some lovely original features it is bright and spacious.  Next door is the bathroom with underfloor heating, separate rainfall shower cubicle and WC.  Along the hallway is the mezzanine twin bedroom which also features a PlayStation games console and is a great space for teenagers and children to escape!  The open plan lounge and kitchen is cosy and welcoming with smart TV, sound bar, YouView, DVD player and iPod dock.  There is a cosy log burner, window seat and lovely stone feature wall.  The kitchen has a breakfast bar, electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and Espresso coffee machine.  It is a great place to sit back and relax after a day out exploring.  Under the stairs you will find a freezer and washer/dryer.

There is private parking adjacent to the property, although there is no garden the house is surrounded with lots of open space, there is also a play park within walking distance.  There are some lovely walks straight from the house and there is secure storage available for your bikes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Benefiting from a great village location, you are only a short walk from local eateries and shops. Spend afternoons mooching through the streets or wandering around the park, and stock up on tasty treats from the local deli to accompany your morning coffee or afternoon tea. If you are a golf fan, West Linton Golf Club is a mile from the property and has an 18-hole, par 69 moorland golf course that offers a fun challenge to golfers of all abilities. Polish your swing before rounding off the day with a drink in the local dog-friendly pub (less than 0.5 miles away).

Outside of the village, there is ample to see and do. Get your legs pumping with a hike through the Pentland Hills and along the old Roman road, taking in the beautiful sights as you go. For keen biking enthusiasts, the world-famous Glentress Forest in the Tweed Valley is a mountain biking heaven. Drive the 17.5 miles and enjoy a day spinning along on two wheels. For something completely different, Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, is only 18 miles away and awash with activities and attractions. Make sure you visit the castle and treat yourself to a mouth-watering meal in one of the city's prestigious restaurants.

This is a great cottage in a really nice village location, with easy access into Edinburgh by bus or driving (using the park and ride at Straiton) and surrounding area. Can recommend The Old Bakehouse for superb food. There is also The Gordon Arms Hotel, which has a good menu too. The Welcome pack provided by the owners is a lovely touch, especiallRead morey after a long journey. This is a fabulous cottage in a very beautiful location. It was not as remote as we thought and the local amenities of shops and restaurants nearby were very useful. it was spotlessly clean and attractively presented. A well appointed cottage ... Everything has been carefully thought through. I met the owners ... Lovely people, friendly and helpful. There is post office ... Where you can withdraw money from the counter using your bank card. The co-op literally a stone throw away from the cottage ... Could become your extended pantry ... I love to cook ...
