If you’re looking for somewhere romantic and quirky on the edge of a picturesque, quaint village in South Wales, look no further. This beautiful detached lodge set in pretty tree-lined grounds offers some stunning mountain views and is the perfect spot for couples looking for a chilled-out getaway with their four-legged friend.
Entrance to this unique property is through impressive bi-folding doors that make the most of the mountain views. Step inside and you’re met by a retro-chic open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a welcoming wood burner that your pup is sure to love snoozing beside. The lodge’s underfloor heating and funky interior design touches extend into the contemporary bedroom and stylish bathroom. The bi-folding doors open out onto an enclosed decked balcony—a gorgeous spot for al fresco dining. There’s also a lawn below with outdoor furniture for an after-dinner drink, please note this garden is not enclosed.
The dog-friendly Sugar Loaf Circuit Trail (6.5 miles) takes you and your pup through a deep wooded valley and out onto open moorland before climbing up the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain to take in the wonderful views across to the Severn Estuary and Brecon Beacons. Further afield, dogs are welcome in the 9 acres of pleasure grounds at The Kymin (22 miles), which was once part of the estate of the Duke of Beaufort. Well behaved pups are also welcome in the property’s charming 18th century Round House.
