The cottage living room is too dark and the two armchairs are very uncomfortable. Lighting is not sufficient enough either (dim bulbs) to change this. The kitchen chairs are also uncomfortable to sit on for the duration of a meal. Also if two people wanted a bath this was impossible as the tank only provided (just) enough water for one. This is verRead morey poor; I have never come across this in any other rental. The only plus was the garden, but this also was ruined by building work across the road Hide

The cottage is in a great location in the lovely village of Hartington. Look out for Hope View on the gate rather than Lilys Cottage. The owners made us very welcome and there were some lovely touches when we arrived. The cottage itself is really cosy and very well appointed. The bed is among the best we have ever slept in.
