Surrounded by far-reaching Aberdeenshire countryside just waiting to be explored, this cosy cottage is perfectly placed for making the most of the great outdoors. Sleeping four, and with your canine companion more than welcome, it’s a home-from-home for the whole family. Spend your days discovering picturesque fishing villages and beaches, or simply relaxing (and playing a game of fetch or two!) in the spacious enclosed garden.
Speaking of relaxing, you’ll find the ideal spot for that in the comfortable lounge, where you can curl up with your favourite book or watch a family film. There’s even a selection of DVDs, books and board games to enjoy. Throughout, the cottage is light and airy, with ample space for everyone to do their own thing - especially the kids, who will delight in the play area in the south-facing garden. Why not unwind with a warm cup of tea on the patio while they race down the slide, with your pup excitedly waiting for them at the bottom?
If you can tear the children and the dog away from the garden, you’ll find so much for you all to explore. Visit the nearby Huntly Castle (3.5 miles), the impressive residence of the Gordon Clan where you can discover the centuries-old ruins. Cairngorms National Park lies further afield - 41 miles southwest - but is worth waking up early for a day of adventure. Travel along its many walking and cycling routes, spot the local wildlife, try watersports, or play a round at one of the park’s 12 golf courses.
