The stylish period cottage with quirky touches welcomes you to a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors leading out to the pretty rear garden. The stylish kitchen area is well-equipped and even includes a fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser for those hot days. Dine in style on a large glass table, perfect for romantic meals or family gatherings. Snuggle down with your hounds in a second lounge with TV and comfy double sofa bed. Head up the stairs to the master bedroom with king-size bed and TV or have a soak at the end of a long day’s exploring in the large, contemporary bathroom. A spacious fully-enclosed garden has seating perfect for al fresco dining and lazy evening star gazing. At the rear of the garden is the delightful summer house with seating area.

Home to the magnificent Thirlestane Castle, hosting events such as the Tour de Lauder and the Vintage Motoring Extravaganza, perfect for classic car enthusiasts and dog-walkers alike. The delightful towns of Melrose (12 miles), Selkirk (19 miles), Jedburgh (21 miles) and Peebles (26 miles) are within easy touring distance and the city of Edinburgh is also a great day out within 25 miles. Enjoy waterside views with nearby River Leader and River Tweed. Walkers, hikers and mountain bikers can explore the direct routes on the Southern Upland Way, right from your doorstep, and take in the beautiful Lammermuir Hills.

The bustling town of Lauder has an array of excellent restaurants, shops and pubs to discover and is home to the magnificent 16th century Thirlestane Castle which plays host to a variety of major events including the Vintage Motor Extravaganza, the Scottish Championship Horse Trials and the Tour de Lauder. Local attractions include Mellerstain and Gardens (12.5 miles), Bank Street Gardens (10.5 miles), Old Gala House (11.5 miles) and Abbotsford – the home of Walter Scott (11.5 miles). There are a number of delightful towns to visit including Melrose (11 miles), Selkirk (16 miles) and Kelso (18 miles). The vibrant capital of Scotland is also within easy reach (27 miles). Anglers can try their hand at salmon and trout fishing on the River Leaden and River Tweed, and walkers, hikers and mountain bikers have plenty of trails to explore along the Lammermuir Hills and the Southern Upland Way. This is a fantastic area for keen cyclists, nature lovers and golfers, with a choice of great golf courses nearby including those at Lauder (1 mile), Torwoodlee (9 miles), Galashiels (10.5 miles) and Melrose (11.5 miles). This cottage is sheer heaven! A superb cottage in a wonderfully welcoming little town. The beautiful garden is completely secure for your doggies, and the house itself is warm, immaculately clean, and very comfortable indeed. The Black Bull serves the best steak ever, the Coop (5 minutes walk away) has a good range of food and drink, and you are juRead morest a 25 minute drive from two massive superstores (Asda and Tesco) in Gallashiels. This was an amazing cottage for the two of us and our dog, Molly. The kitchen/dining room looking out onto the garden was amazing. We opened the patio doors every day and Molly was able to spend all day in the garden if she wanted to, safe and secure. Was a great base for us to visit all the scottish border towns, which we did and also close to EdiRead morenburgh to visit family. We will definitely be back to Lammermuir Cottage, thank you. Hide

Ideally situated in the town. Great to be able to park the car in front of the door. Well equipped and very tastefully decorated. We loved dining outside in the enclosed garden, especially at night in good weather. Took chairs and small table up to the summer house and enjoyed drinks watching the sun go down. Lammermuir Cottage is well equipped, to a very high standard, and extremely comfortable. Within handy reach of all the Borders towns and close to Northumberland if you want to go further afield.

This cottage is perfect for a couple with a dog. The family room/kitchen area is exceptionally large and the large patio and garden is absolutely wonderful and very secluded. So peaceful. Best holiday house we have stayed in.. property in immaculate condition. Tremendous garden for our dogs. Walking distance from centre of town which has good shopping eating and drinking. Already checking diary for another stay.

Lovely property, very spacious, modern and a fab big enclosed garden. Lauder is a nice wee town, with very friendly locals. Great surroundings for dog walking, running and cycling.
