Find plenty of walks in the area to choose from: try a 3.5-mile, circular walk along the banks of the River Swale, returning home via the dog-friendly village pub afterwards. Drive approximately 13 miles to reach the edge of the North York Moors National Park and, from here, head out into the Cleveland or Hambleton Hills. Venture 10.5 miles to visit Richmond Castle, with its spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales and where dogs on leads are also very welcome to explore the fortress ruins.
