A warm, welcoming property in a super location near England’s largest forest and stunning lake. Perfect for families, friends and outdoors lovers.

This pretty property, situated less than half a mile from Kielder Water and Forest Park, is perfect for families or groups of friends – with the pups in tow, of course! Sleeping seven across three peaceful bedrooms and with space for up to two dogs, this cottage is the ideal base for those looking for a relaxing holiday yet who still want to get out and explore. Go and get lost around the Minotaur Maze (485 metres) or try your hand at archery or fencing at Leaplish Waterside Park (0.5 miles).

The holiday home, which is part of a quaint terrace 80 metres from Lakeside Way, is spacious and comfortable. The stunning kitchen diner has a wonderful contemporary cottage feel with lots of light and rustic woods, while the lounge has a cosy feel thanks to the wood burner in an intricate fireplace and comfy sofas. Upstairs, the bedrooms promote a tranquil night’s sleep; wake up among soft pastel colours and head down to the garden to let the hounds out to stretch their legs. Sizzle up a BBQ out here in the summer – the owners have even provided you with picnic ware – or simply enjoy a long cold drink on the sun loungers.

If Fido can be left for a couple of hours, you must take a night-time trip to Kielder Observatory (2.5 miles) to gaze at the Milky Way; the third largest protected Dark Sky Reserve in the world holds regular family events. Visit the gateway to Kielder, Bellingham (18 miles), where there are plenty of pubs and cafes to try. Your canine companions can take a human on a stroll around the grounds of the Mary Queen of Scots Visitor Centre (25.5 miles) while you go inside and learn her story in a charming building dedicated to her memory.

This property was immaculately presented and had everything you could possibly need. Warm, comfortable and a fantastic secure, enclosed garden for the dogs. The area is extremely peaceful. Overall a relaxing break away - just wish it was longer!

This is an excellent place to stay. The cottage is warm and cosy, it has everything you need and more. We loved the flowers, wine and scones left as a welcome for us. Fantastic location for walking and visiting market towns in both Northumberland and into Scotland. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful yet active holiday. The only sliRead moreght negative is the pub isnt great but there are other pubs close enough for this not to matter. Hide

Kielder Kip House is a fantastic property. Beautifully furnished and decorated, loads of space, and brilliantly located for easy access to Kielder Forest activities and the surrounding area. We had a great stay there

Wonderful, comfortable and well-equipped holiday property in a beautiful area. We organised a Tesco delivery for our first evening. There is a small basics shop at the fuel station but any other shopping is a trek. The midges targeted one of us on our last day but otherwise weren't a problem.

The cottage was perfect. Everything was high quality and the cottage was the best we have ever stayed in. The local area was quiet and peaceful just what we wanted and everyone was very friendly.
