The beautiful stone semi detached  property benefits from a quiet rural location, perfect for escaping from it all with your nearest and dearest. The cottage sleeps six guests and two dogs, and you’ll be within easy reach of some fantastic walks, both at the coast, where you’ll find long sandy beaches and clifftop paths, and within the stunning Exmoor National Park (both less than 15 miles away). Family attractions such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are within 25 miles.

The 16th-century cottage is bursting with character and has been lovingly maintained to highlight the gorgeous original features. Exposed wood adds warmth to each area, particularly in the cosy lounge with its roaring wood burner – the perfect spot for the woofers to doze after a long walk. From the kitchen, a stable door opens onto the pretty garden which features a large lawned area and patio complete with BBQ and chiminea for al fresco dining. Being a traditional thatched property, expect to find some reduced head space in some areas, as well as cottage-style stairs leading to the bedrooms.

For spectacular views across Dartmoor and Exmoor, park the car in Bishop’s Tawton (3 miles away) and head up Codden Hill. Rising to 190 metres, it’s an excellent vantage point and guaranteed to get the heart beating. Afterwards, return to the village for a hearty meal in the popular dog-friendly pub. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dog-friendly beaches in North Devon. For the wow factor, journey 13 miles to Saunton Sands and Braunton Burrows. With 3.5 miles of free-run sand, as well as a dramatic backdrop of sand dunes to explore, it’s an absolute haven for the hounds. It’s also a surfing hotspot and a real family favourite, with a row of colourful beach huts available to hire during the summer.

The cottage was advertised as tranquil & peaceful,a place to get away from it all, turned out to be far from truth.Did not state cottage had been split into 2, photos made it look detached.Booked for 3 nights but left after 2 as there was a child screaming & doors slamming next door for hours, walls very thin. Went to bed 10pm and noise was awful, chRead moreild screaming & throwing things around until 11.30.Totally unacceptable! Had to book another property for next night. Next door not a holiday let. a really wonderful cottage and made our holiday in Devon extra special by having such a great home to stay in for the week. Everything you could need was catered for in the home. A great rural location giving us the benefit of tranquility whilst being within easy reach of the main towns and beautiful coastal areas.

Absolute beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location, the road to and from the cottage is tight and luckily we only had someone coming the other way a couple of times. Had everything we needed and was a great base to explore North Devon. We will return one day.

Lovely cottage and a true home from home - great location although the access lanes are very narrow. Very clean and comfortable and our dog Molly loved the garden. Brilliant shirt break - could have stayed longer !!!!

Everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay. Excellent location, quiet and out of the way, access along very narrow lanes, look out for pot holes. Only one Bathroom which is first class, but down stairs, not ideal if you need to get up in the night.
