Stylish detached lodge with private hot tub and wonderful countryside views. Ideal for those seeking a relaxing country retreat, within easy reach of all local attractions and amenities.

Set 3.5 miles south of the attractive market town of Kelso, this sweet lodge will have humans and hounds hungry for holiday heaven. Sheltered by a bend in the River Tweed, Kelso boasts some brilliant canine-cordial pubs, independent shops and eateries, such as The Blackadder, The Waggon, The Cobbles and the BeerCraft shop, which stocks gorgeous local goodies. Majestic Floors Castle and Gardens (5 miles) also welcomes hounds to its extensive grounds. A network of walking, cycling and riding routes expands all around the lodge. The paths around the Kelso trail take in Morebattle (5.5 miles) and Yetholm (6.5 miles), and the Kelso to Roxburgh (6.5 miles) trail follows the Borders Abbeys Way beside the Rivers Teviot and Tweed.

Inside the lodge you’ll find a wooden wonderland. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a convivial space for friends, families and furries, with leather furniture, a sleek kitchen and lovely dining table. There are exquisite views of the Scottish Borders all around, enveloping the bedrooms and the seductive outdoor hot tub. There’s handy storage space attached to the lodge where you can leave bulky outer clothing, and the grounds and parking area have CCTV. Relax with evening wine or energise with morning coffee and croissants, with just nature as your host. All you need do is decide on your next adventure.

Explore the Cheviot Hills (10 miles) and the Pennine Way from Kirk Yetholm (6.5 miles), which leads all the way to Edale in Derbyshire. The Northumberland National Park (11 miles) is home to England’s cleanest rivers, sweetest air and darkest skies; wander the sublime valleys, follow Hadrians Wall and discover secret woodlands, waterfalls, hay meadows and moorlands. St Cuthbert’s Way links Melrose (18 miles) to Lindisfarne, physically and spiritually. Play on the breathtaking golf courses at Roxburghe (6 miles) and the Hirsel Club at Coldstream (11.5 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely lodge with beautiful scenery and great walks for the dog nearby in woods. Kelso is only 10 minutes drive away and 3 golf courses within 30 minutes (Duns, Roxburgh and Kelso) which I played whilst there. Good shower. Plenty of cupboard space. Limited freezer space in fridge but Sainsbury's just 10 min drive away.

The location is excellent and the views are lovely. The lodge is nice and would be ok for a couple with a young family but is a bit small for 4 adults. The fridge is useless. I put some ice in the ice box, it melted and dripped through the fridge. There is no space to stand a milk carton upright which also leaks when on its side. Excellent holiday accomodation. And extremely well located for touring this beautiful area around Kelso. Would have perhaps been a wee bit cramped for 4 full sized adults but fine for a family or couple on their own. Beautiful view from the place and coming home after a day out to the relaxing hot tub was great.
