This spacious cottage is set within an impressive 5 acres of farmland, where guests are invited to enjoy the glorious open space at their leisure. In the heart of the rolling, picturesque Dorset countryside, this is the perfect spot for guests looking for a relaxing break in peaceful surroundings. Dog walkers will delight in the array of walks from the property that lead through a picture-postcard landscape.

With exposed beams and plush, lavish seating, the snug lounge offers you an opportunity to relax in front of the TV or watch a late-night movie - ideal for those seeking a romantic break on their own. If you're not, however, there is a convenient sofa bed which can be made up to sleep either an additional adult or up to two children. The dining area, adjacent to an attractive kitchen is ideal for those seeking to prepare an intimate meal for two. Throw in a little music and give the dog a treat to keep him/her content, before taking coffee on your private balcony. Upstairs, you will find a welcoming, spacious, super king-size bedroom.

The amazing Chesil Beach, which stretches an astounding 17 miles along the south coast, has several areas where dogs are freely permitted in the summer (the whole beach is dog friendly between October and Easter) and is a wonderful natural resource for the whole family to explore and play. Among other notable places you are close to, are Cerne Abbas (7 miles) with its famous giant carved into the chalk hillside, the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and Abbotsbury Swannery (16 miles) and the Weymouth Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary (19 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Generally a nice place. A bit of a long trek from the bedroom to toilet at night time. If you are staying in the cooler months I would recommend bringing your own heater.

We absolutely loved this little cottage. It really ticked every box for us. It is in a beautiful area and we slept very well as it is so quiet and dark. Little light pollution and such wonderful clear skies! We were able to cook perfectly adequately at the cottage - well equipped. Our dog adored the garden which is just beautiful. It was a lovely cottage, especially the bedroom and the garden which the dog loved. Owners very helpful and friendly. The fridge is very small and anything out under or to the side of the ice box froze. WiFi either didn't work or was very slow when it did. This is the fifth time I've booked these cottages. Love it, great base for dog walking trips. Will be booking again soon. Owners are lovely people.

The bedroom was super with a lovely comfy big bed with lovely linen. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and enjoy the superb views. The kitchen though was lacking in space and equipment. The oven was hard to use as most of the lettering had worn off, so it was quess work for temperature etc. The fridge was in a very awkward space, having to open tRead morewo cupboard doors to use it. The shower was very inadequate with very little head room and anti slip mat was not provided. Also mould on the windows. Hide

Friendly hosts, nice touches - flowers and fresh bread in the cottage, stunning grounds for walking the dog. The property is not for those who wish to do a lot of cooking.

Gemmas Cottage is a very comfortable holiday cottage in a beautiful quiet location. The owners were very friendly and Dennis our dog adored the garden.
