Tranquil cottage in a complex of two with countryside walks and views within easy reach of Hexham, the local attractions and National park, this property is perfect for a romantic break.

Enjoy a peaceful getaway for two plus your favourite furry friend in this gorgeous cottage. The property is located within the grounds of the owner’s historic farmhouse and you and the woofer will have access to 3 acres of shared open parkland to explore. The property is just 7 miles from the rugged landscape of the Northumberland National Park, where you’ll find a huge variety of walking trails guaranteed to get ears flapping with delight. The market town of Hexham is just 2 miles away and has a great selection of woof-friendly eateries.

The single-storey stone cottage is full of character and charm, with exposed beams and pretty window frames looking out over the surrounding countryside. Enjoy a romantic dinner for two at the dining table, before retreating to the comfy sofa to snuggle up and watch the Smart TV whilst Rover dozes on the rug. At the end of the day, retreat to the stylish bedroom, which is decorated in muted tones to create a calm and relaxed ambience. Outside, enjoy morning coffee on the bistro set, admiring the peaceful setting, before taking a gentle stroll with the pup around the shared grounds.

The historic town of Hexham is well worth a visit. Wander around the grounds of the abbey and the fabulous Sele Park, where you’ll find stunning formal gardens and woodland walks, before dining in one of the many paw-friendly eateries. You can’t stay in this part of the country without visiting Hadrian’s Wall. The best place to see it, locally, is at Walltown Crags. Here, the magnificent wall snakes and dives along the crags, winding along the wild and mysterious landscape. Follow the wall for an intriguing walk, where there’s guaranteed to be plenty of new sniffs for your hairy pal to investigate!

A friendly host . Comfortable bed . Good shower . Centrally located for visiting all locations . The large area of mown grass close to the property was very welcome for exercising our dog . Electrically operated gates provided security for the property and safety for the dog .

A very nice property in beautiful peaceful surroundings. Location great, 5 minutes drive to Hexham with lots of facilities but completely quiet and undisturbed at the property. Good base for exploring the Northumberland area. Ideal for a couple wanting to get away from it all! NB dogs are allowed at the property which I didn't realise when booking Read moreand some dog hairs. Mostly clean but a couple of areas missed by the cleaner. Owner very quick to respond and get a new hairdryer when it broke. Hide

excellently designed cottage in a beautiful setting. Ideal for two people. The cottage was well located, in a peaseful rural setting, but with easy access to Hexham.

Firstly, location, excellent, down a single track road, then through a gated entrance. Big mown field to side of property, secure and great to let your dog run loose. Secondly, the accommodation, compact, kitchen, diner and living room all in one, but for 2, it's excellent. Comfy, bed, good shower. Can't really fault it. Our host is on site in mainRead more house, very friendly, not intrusive. A lovely place to stay. Not often I return to properties, but this one I would. Thank you. Hide
