Escape to this stylish, stone built house crammed with character, set in this peaceful Peak District village, excellent for keen walkers and nature lovers.

Step back in time and stay in this gorgeous stone property at the heart of a chocolate-box village, tucked within the stunning landscape of the Peak District. Boasting timber beams, a crackling wood burner and classic furniture, it is a fantastic choice for six humans and one pooch. Imagine chilly nights curled up in front of the flickering embers of the wood burner, a glass of wine in hand and a sleeping canine by your side.

Kick off your boots and hunker down for a warming brew and slab of homemade cake in the cosy wood burner-warmed dining room, slipping your beloved hound a few tasty morsels under the vast table. A farmhouse-style kitchen provides budding cooks with everything they need to transform fresh produce into a tantalising array of treats, which can also be enjoyed al fresco in the sunny garden. Retire to the lounge for a nightcap by the wood burner, snuggling up in front of a film. There’s a handy utility room, and all three bedrooms are upstairs on the first floor, along with a lavish family bathroom with a free-standing bath and separate shower. The bedrooms are irresistible after a busy day, consisting of super-king-size zip-and-link with en-suite shower, a king-size room, and a fabulous bedroom with bunk beds.

The village of Wetton is an enchanting place to explore, offering a selection of scenic trails straight from your doorstep. Climb to the top of the picturesque Dovedale Valley, 3.5 miles away, padding across the tumbling landscape down to the meandering River Dove for a picnic on the riverbank, or hop on your bike and discover the Tissington Trail. Your waggy-tailed friend can join you for every adventure and will adore taking the lead sniffing for rabbits along the route leading to Thor’s Cave, 1 mile away.

A perfect location for a stay in The Peaks. Wetting itself is a lovely, quiet village. The cottage is very well appointed and tastefully decorated. We ate at a few of the pubs nearby. All of which provided very good meals. I would definitely recommend

The cottage is large & spacious & very warm. Offroad parking is great as is the location in the village but the pub next door was not as good as the their website indicates. We had drinks there on one occasion & decided from that not to eat there. The pub in the next village of Butterton was much nicer.
