Set on a secluded road leading to the beach, this gorgeous seaside retreat is set in West Bay. With its harbourside cafes, boat tours, beautiful scenery and beach, West Bay is a blissful bubble away from the everyday. Just 1 mile away is the historic market town of Bridport where thirsty dogs and their friends will love the plethora of pubs and eateries. There are many more pretty beaches to explore in the area, including Hive Beach near Burton Bradstock (3 miles), Eypemouth and Cogden (both 3.5 miles), or join the sublime South West Coast Path for wondrous walkies.

This property is perfect. A fantastic location with sea views. Lots of delicious places to eat within walking distance. The home is clean, comfortable and very well fitted out. We shall be coming back to visit.

Property is ideally situated in West Bay with lots to do in the area. In need of some TLC in some areas but did not detract from an enjoyable holiday with the family.

The accommodation was very spacious with lovely views out to sea and country side. The harbor area had very nice places to eat, a great bakery. The children went crabbing. Places to visit were near by. We found lots of fossil at Charmouth. Very enjoyable holiday.

Beautiful location, lovely views and westbay has so much to offer. The house in well situated and provides a lovely base for exploring the area, it could do with a little updating and some routine maintenance but that didn't get in the way of us having a lovely holiday. The dogs loved the garden.

Really nice location but house needs a bit of TLC. Great bathrooms and dining/kitchen area. Spent most of our time in the spacious sun room with views overlooking the sea.

Fantastic place to stay, we came the same time last year here and enjoyed it, Our daughter and husband plus 2 dogs,( the cottage was our xmas present to each other 4 adults,) We chose to come again here as it was lovely to have a downstairs bedroom and shower room as we have a blind dog and no stairs for her to struggle with , We live in a bungalowRead more , so made life easy for her . Seven adults and two dogs stayed in this fantastic cottage for a week. Christmas tree and welcoming goodies were appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and are looking at a return visit. The cottage was light, spacious and comfortable and very accessible to the coastal path. A quiet location. It had sea views which was lovely from the bedrooms and kitchen. We all enjoyed using the conservatory when the sun was out. The welcome box of goodies was appreciated on our arrival. A couple of negative points, no live tv until the Thursday Read moreof our week, due to satellite cable not working. We loved our stay at Ilchester! It's a fantastic location, a very spacious property indoors and outdoors, and it is very thoughtfully equipped in the kitchen along with a very handy washing machine and dryer. Bathrooms (three, one ensuite) are all modern, lovely and spacious. Front entrance made grocery delivery very easy. Perfect location and a lovely sea views. Handy if you want to stay where you are and not drive anywhere, some nice cafes and pubs to walk too and a great locals lunch menu at the Station Kitchen which was beautiful inside the train carriage.

Very happy with Ilchester once again. The large kitchen diner that flows into the conservatory and deck is a great space, which all ages in our party loved. When the bifold doors are open, then the patio area and outside table etc become part of the shared space, so it's great for a multi-age group. Lovely cottage with beautiful views across West Bay and the cliffs, and only a few minutes' walk to the (dog friendly) beach, and the harbour. The seagulls are very noisy from about 5am, but that's hardly the cottage's fault!

Our 4th 'sisters annual holiday' at 'Ilchester' Love it & always very pleased with the cleanliness on arrival. However, not so this year (14-21 May 2023) Found lots of crumbs on swivel-out corner shelf, other swivel out shelf storing pans/lids etc was a complete jumble which, on opening, heavy glass lid fell out onto my foot. Sink caddy had smelly Read moresponges & mucky inside. Upstairs ensuite loo hadn't been cleaned. Small upstairs bathroom bin had not been emptied. Disappointing housekeeping. Hide
