Located only half a mile from the wonderful Charmouth Beach, nothing says 'revitalise' like a healthy dose of sea air to start and end your day.
Tastefully modernised throughout, this cheerful 15th century cottage in the heart of Charmouth is a great little base for an adventure in fossil country. With its colourful decor and a cute enclosed courtyard garden, this is a beautiful home-from-home.
Step straight into the bright lounge and kitchen/diner which has a stylish blend of old and new, with traditional features giving an uplift and a liberal scattering of colour. Sit back on the spacious corner sofa around the wood burner for a cosy catch-up, or snuggle with the dog on the fluffy rug and get a game of cards going. Throw open the doors in the kitchen and enjoy a glass of wine in the courtyard as the sun goes down, before setting about preparing dinner in the well-designed kitchen. Heading upstairs the bedrooms each have a unique, sunny style and a smart TV for a little extra indulgence.
The cottage is in the centre of Charmouth which has a shop and pub, and the beach is within walking distance. Visit the heritage centre on Charmouth Beach to see a collection of local fossil finds before trying to find your own, or even joining one of the regular fossil-hunting walks led by experts. Dogs will love a low-tide stroll along the shoreline, and there are plenty of clifftop walks too. The larger town of Lyme Regis is 3 miles away or for a change of scene, head to Seaton, 10 miles away where you can take a trip on the dog-friendly traditional tram. Travelling through nature reserves with lots of wildlife to spot, the trip is a great day out for the whole family.
